Myself and my wife stayed at Brooklyn House on Saturday, 3rd December. ||When I had initially booked Brooklyn House, there were rooms that were titled "double room with shared bathroom."" I selected Deluxe Queen Room, which did not state, shared bathroom. However, when I received my confirmation email, I quickly realised this was a shared bathroom. I sent Brooklyn House a message via Booking.com to ask if I could amend my booking as I would have preferred a room with an en-suit. The response I received was appalling! I advised that I was only enquiring. the response I got was still not acceptable. I then received another message a short time later, with a much more professional response.||We arrived at Brooklyn house around 5 pm on Saturday and were met by Kate, who wasn't overly welcoming (perhaps due to our previous exchanges via booking.com messenger). We stayed for approximately 30 minutes. In this time, we noticed that the room had not been hoovered and the shared bathroom was not very clean. We then left to attend our event. We arrived back at Brooklyn House around 11.30pm. The next morning, we did not want to shower in the shared bathroom as the floor was soaking wet from the previous user and again was not very clean.||I was greeted by who I presume was the male that lived there with Kate. He was very pleasant and offered me tea or coffee. We then exchanged a conversation regarding the event we had attended. We then packed our things and left. ||On Sunday evening, I received an email from Booking.com around 9.26pm To rate my experience at Brooklyn House. I feel I left a fair score based on our experience, which was 6/10||At 9.35pm, I received a text message from a contact number I did not recognise. I then also received a WhatsApp from a number I did not recognise (it was the same number). This abusive message was from Kate, the owner at Brooklyn House. ||Please see the attached screenshots of the exchange between myself and Kate, the owner. ||The customer service I have received before and after my stay at Brooklyn House has been appalling! Rude and intimidating! I am shocked and feel I must bring to the attention of others the type of service that Brooklyn House is offering if you don't leave a...
Read moreBrooklyn House is located halfway between Cockfosters and Oakwood tube station on the Piccadilly line and this provides easy access to London and the West End. I understand that the tube is now running all night too so very easy to get back after a night on the town.||Southgate town centre is an easy walk too and all these areas provide a host of cafes, bars and restaurants so plenty to choose from. ||It is also close to Trent Park where you can enjoy lovely long walks. ||The hosts Kate and Andy, are just great. Nothing is too much trouble and you are very well looked after. Every time I returned I was asked if I wanted a cup of tea or anything else which was really nice. ||It's worth noting that only one of the bedrooms is en suite, which leaves another three bedrooms sharing one bathroom. ||My room was very nice, although the reception on the TV was a little sporadic. The room was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom and the rest of the house.||Should I have the need to stay in this area again, I would...
Read moreVery disappointing. The room was describe as deluxe double. In fact it was next to the front door and not en suite or attached to the patio as described. The room was small to the fact that you could only enter the double bed from one side.
The owner in their defence did offer to move me to another room which also was not en-suite.
I departed instantly and was offered no refund for the second night of my stay. I understood that I could be reimbursed for my first night.
High recommended that the owners change the descriptions of each room to clearly highlight no en suite and remove the word 'deluxe", for what clearly was a box room. I know of no deluxe room where you can only get in one side of the bed.
£178 for two night was over the odds when I got an executive room in the holiday inn including breakfast for...
