Apollo Bakery & Coffee Shop Cockfosters — Restaurant in London

We used to go to this place on Saturday afternoons until we have had a very unpleasant and rude behaviour by one of the staff there. We visited the place to have a coffee and meet our friends and we’re told off by the waitress who asked us to keep it down. Apparently someone complained about us being loud? although we weren’t, we were just being happy, discussing and joking with our friends. The waitress came to our table and asked us to keep it down in a very rude and sarcastic way - she was almost about to burst into a laugh! We asked whether it was her asking or someone complained and she said it was the latter. We were left in shock and awe! We are not kids, we are family people of 45 years old and to be told off in such a rude way for what? For discussing in a coffee shop on a Saturday afternoon! Another waitress came after that to apologise which was very kind of her and explained that it is the policy of this coffee shop to have standard clientele, mostly families. Meaning what? if one of the permanent customers complain they go and tell other people off?? And they try to keep it quiet for families? Absurd things. The coffee shop was full of babies crying/moaning - we never complained about them making any noise. The shop is very clean I have to say and we loved the variety of products but after that incident I would never spend not even a minute in this place. Management needs to do something about that. We had breakfast there.The place was clean,the quality of coffee was excellent,the staff was friendly,they had a lot of choices for savory pies to choose from and also a big variety of cakes and sweets.Nice warm place with good music.Busy place it’s a nice place to choose if you want to go out for breakfast with your family or just to grap and go.The pies and the sweets as the staff told me are all handmade from the kitchen and reniew it everyday and dont keep them as other stores for daaays.I could tell they were true as the feta cheese pie was looking and tasting fresh as also the cakes I bought for home the cream was smooth and the sponge soft as they supposed to be.We had a nice experience there with my family I would recommend it as I’m also greek and it has the same style as greek bakery/coffee shops back in home.Also to add there is a place to park your car free in front but not a big space but we find...

For my husband’s birthday, we bought a strawberry cake. When we cut into the cake, the amount of actual cake (sponge) was very little compared to the cream. It felt like we were just sold greasy cream. As you can see in the attached picture, there is only a very thin layer of sponge, and the rest is all cream, which was extremely greasy. I can't even say it was a cheesecake! After just one bite, the excessive greasiness made me feel dizzy. The ratio of cake to cream was completely off.
