Mike and Pauline provide high quality accommodation, which sits at the end of a gravel road close to all the key shops, restaurants and pubs in Brockenhurst. Its an ideal location, far enough to be away from any noise from the main road but close enough to be able to take an easy stroll to most things. After an orientation “tour” Pauline made us a cup of tea and provided us with some information about the area. The couple have lived close to here throughout their lives, so its like having a Tourist Information Office on-site. All the helpful recommendations and tips greatly enhanced our stay in the area. We were staying in the Sycamore room, odd in that it is the only room that isn’t en-suite but exclusive use of a bathroom is just a few steps down the corridor. The room is cheaper than the others & dressing gowns are provided, so the lack of en-suite wasn’t an issue. The room has most of the creature comforts you would want and a comfortable bed with good quality linens. What we loved about this room most was the window and door have views over their lovely garden, which has a patio, table and chairs. So its a great place to have a relaxing cup of tea and feel you’re halfway into the forest already. Access is thoughtfully provided to the utility room and summer house, which gives you all the plates, utensils etc. to enjoy a take away in these lovey surrounding, a privilege we took advantage of on two nights (the Thai and Indian were delicious). There is even a gas BBQ available on request if you feel the desire. It also gives you access to a fridge/freezer and fresh milk is thoughtfully provided. Breakfast is perfect. A selection sheet is given the night before so that a breakfast fitting you needs is ready when you want it. Cereals, coffee and a full English set us up for the days activities. Mike and Pauline are lovely hosts and provide a home away from home environment for guests to get the best from their stay in the area. We highly recommend staying here, in fact if all B&Bs were like this we’d never stay in a...
Read moreWell what can I say. What a lovely place to stay! We found Pauline and Mike so welcoming, friendly and easy to talk to! |We stayed in Ash room which was actually perfect! We had a door directly onto the patio overlooking a large garden with our own table and chairs. Being Oct and a bit wet we didn’t use it but in better, warmer weather it would be perfect. We had our own bathroom which also had a door into the utility room with washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer etc. The fridge had bottles of water for us to use. We had coffee/tea/chocolate and biscuits in our room and just outside we could replenish those as and when needed.|Rooms were very clean and bed was comfy! Towels were supplied and if we needed more just ask. ||Breakfast was really good and perfectly cooked by Mike! Choose whatever you like from the cereal table or go for the cooked breakfast or have both if you wish! We filled out a form saying what we’d like on our hot brekkie and we would get the same every day unless we asked for something different. Nothing was too much trouble! ||We did a few trips out and going through the forest was lovely when the animals were roaming around freely. However, please be aware that animals can turn on a sixpence and change direction walking out in front of you at any time. We saw quite a lot of people speeding in there and they would have had trouble stopping. If you want to travel faster use another route. ||The only reason I’m loathe to recommend to friends is in case they book it and we can’t get a room! 😂😂||Thank you Pauline and Mike for making our stay a really lovely one. Hopefully we’ll get the chance to...
Read moreWe had a lovely stay at Meerut this weekend, Pauline and Mike are great host- kind, friendly, ever ready to help and provide any sort of information. They have a beautiful place to stay in, close to shops like Tesco , Co op and other little eateries and also close to the woods. They have been taking all precautions against Covid and they manage it quite well. They are very considerate about their guest and provide with bottled water, pint of milk , tea , coffe , hot chocolate along with microwave ,fridge, extra blankets, iron and iron board, cutlery, plates, glasses ( even wine glasses), washing up liquid etc in every room. They also provide a sumptuous breakfast, after which one can walk tirelessly throughout the day. They provide the best for their guest and the stay is quite economical as well. Their rooms and surrounding is well maintained and has a peaceful serene atmosphere. I'd highly highly recommend a stay here. It's a beautiful experience and a homely feeling. My Best wishes to Pauline and Mike. Will definitely come back again for a...
