Chapel Farm looks like a charming thatched cottage chocolate box (or fudge box) type of place set in lovely Devon countryside. There is a shop attached and parking space round the back.||||My experience of the hosts was very good. They were friendly and helpful and not at all rude as other reviews have suggested. The room was clean and serviceable with tea and coffee facilities and an en suite stocked with soaps and shampoos and breakfast was quite acceptable with as much cereal, toast and coffee as you may require. Fried breakfasts are also available.||||My only issues were that the shower was a bit small and cramped for me and there are low doorways and beams so anyone over average height should watch their heads. I was clumsy enough to bang my head twice (I'm 6'2"). Warning notices would have been much appreciated. Also, as I was paying by card, I had to go round to the shop and wait as there are apparently no card facilities at the B&B itself. This should be easily rectifiable.||||I should mention that Croyde is very much a surfer community. Every other shop is a surf hire shop and nearly every other person is carrying a board. I was only staying here as I had booked a surfing lesson at Croyde Bay (about...
Read moreI have to say very rude!! - myself and my friends have stayed here previously, great location||||However I am hoping we caught the lady who runs this place on a bad day because wow, she was incredibly rude and miserable. I am not sure why you would run a BB in a beautiful friendly place such as croyde when you clearly don't want to be doing it ||||The sad thing is this isn't a one off for croyde - because the places gets so many visitors and don't get me wrong I am sure and I know you get some pain in the bums - however this doesn't warrant rudeness. Especially when you spend alot of money helping these people to stay in business. We are keen surfers and predominately stay in couples so we return to croyde often and I am sad to say if you wanted to be greeted politely and made to feel like your business is wanted I would avoid staying here!||||Croyde, remember without tourism, you wouldn't make as much money as you do or your houses wouldn't be worth quite as much as...
Read moreAll of the previous reviews saying that the owners are rude, ignorant and unhelpful are spot-on. I have stayed at this B & B several times over the years with friends in my younger, surfing days and just about tolerated them as it was cheap and within staggering distance to the pub.||||This years visit to Croyde was far more upmarket than this basic offering (I will submit a separate review) but my husband and I visited Chapel Farm on business. Both owners were extremely rude to us on two separate occasions. They obviously hate the fact that they cant sell the business and have to keep going as it's been up for sale for years. ||||Why folks with zero people-skills would want to be in the hospitality industry is beyond me....
