We have stayed in premier inns all over the country and never had an issue before. That changed a cpl weeks ago when we went on our annual trip to see family near the cotswolds, instead of camping as we usually do we decided to stay at Premier Inn Evesham due to expecting some bad weather.
We checked in fine and got to the room and were a little disappointed to find a damaged side table, damage to the panel behind the toilet and just a general aged look to the room and corridors, staining on the walls and ripped wallpaper etc, not liking to moan we just thought it was fine as we weren't staying long anyway.
After visiting family we came back to the room to settle down, upon opening the door we noticed it was really warm in the room so opened the window, within minutes the room was filled with the stench of sewage coming from the drain right outside our window, we had to shut the windows and turn the fan on which did absolutely nothing! After an awful sweaty night I spoke to reception the next day to ask if we could move rooms, fully booked so no, can we have an extra fan then? No sorry policy is 1 fan in each room. OK then how can you help? "I suggest you ask the restaurant for a pint of ice and put it infront of the fan" (a floor standing fan.....)
If i find another hotel will you refund me then? No sorry!
'A good night's sleep guaranteed' signs all over the hotel did not live up to their name!
After complaining via email I received a reply telling me the smell isnt their responsibility as the drain is outside so isnt theirs......even though all of the downspouts from their building go into their drain!
No one at all was helpful in reaching any sort of resolution so I would rather just warn people instead not to stay there, and if you do then dont expect any support from head office/complaints
There is an option to have an all you can eat cooked breakfast in the pub adjoining the hotel, we went as we have to others in the passed and have always been great, this one was awful, bordering on inedible, the waitress had no manners whatsoever and anything anyone asked seemed to be a massive inconvenience to her, she then went onto have a loud conversation with a colleague about how bad another colleague was whilst leaving customers to fend for themselves, not very professional from someone working in customer services!
Premier Inn Would you feel happy taking your family to stay in a room with dirty damaged furniture and that stinks of...
Read moreThere is something to be said about the phrase Home Away From Home. As someone who has to work locally to Evesham for a good amount of time in the year, having somewhere to stay that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable is so important.
The Premier Inn Evesham may just be another hotel in the chain, but to me it's just that. A place I know well, have my favorite room and can relax in after a day in the office.
It ticks all the usual boxes. Really comfortable bed, clean, quiet and a standing fan for those warm evenings; sorry no Air Con. But what sets it off is the staff. Everyone I have had the pleasure of interacting with during my stays have been great, and are a massive credit to the Premier Inn family.
Now I would be amiss if I didn't mention the negatives, and unfortunately there are two that combined are a bit of a pain.
The first is the location. Not where is it, as Evesham is a lovely area, but the surroundings hills. Due to how the hotel sits on the landscape is gets basically no signal. You might get 3G in the car park, but you will definitely get nothing in the room.
The second is the WiFi, specifically the bandwidth allocated to each device. The service is provided by Virgin, and unless you pay the £5 for 24hours of "Ultimate" WiFi, the best you will get it's What'sApp messaging or buffered Tiktok. No video call home to the wife, no youtube, no PDF attachments in emails.
With the wifi being the only way to contact the outside world, I feel it's a tad bad form. My company will cover the cost so I am able to work and do emails, but I really feel they need to address this, especially for a hotel mostly frequented by business users.
Yet, regardless of that, the hotel and it's team more than deserve 5 stars. If I had a choice I would always stay here over the Wood Norton down the read. Alas, it can get busy and as such the price for some nights goes too high for most companies accommodation policies so its not always possible.
All in all, Premier Inn Evesham, you are my new Home...
Read moreStunk Of Sewage!|So i travelled to this hotel for business, checked in got room key (24) went in and the room stunk to high heaven of sewage, went straight to reception who says, oh, im sorry the cleaners never informed us of the smell. ||Perhaps not, but the previous guests would have as im not the only one writing a review about this and i very much doubt anyone checked in, was greeted by the stench and thought, oh its not that bad! it was HORRIFIC.||They went on to tell me, im sorry we're fully booked, would you like the number of head office, I said no, what i would have liked is for you to do your job, check the rooms and when they smell of sewage, don't offer them out for hire.||This is BASIC hospitality, checking the rooms, from what im seeing is, the cleaners are not only responsible for cleaning, but also responsible for supervision management, because its quite clear, nobody else checked!||On top of this, the place is tired, it looks it and feels it and to be honest, premier inn is going down the route Travelodge did years ago and just don't care, people have no pride in their jobs anymore, not at this hotel anyway and it shows,||Overall, i hate giving bad reviews, but how long do you let bad behaviour continue before standing up. The rooms without the smell of sewage are worth £30 tops NOWHERE near £77 charged. Oh and for reference, I got a refund, and i would urge anyone, pay by credit card, not debit, then if you see this review, be assured premier inn DO KNOW about this, because as well as this review, I called them and spoke with Andrew Guest Relations Advisor and that way you can claw back your card if you need too, with debit card, its...
