They weren't to accommodating with the reservations (changing from King to Queen), nor was it easy to get a handicap room. I am extremely disappointed as there is NO complementary breakfast even though their site is subjective and makes it sound as though the Bistro is complementary. In fact, there is no pricing listed anywhere on the sites anywhere for the Bistro. The in room coffee maker is tiny & slow, the fridge and microwave are the smallest available sizes there are, so for the price, trust me this hotel is NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!
It's a horrible hotel for the price!! I wouldn't waste my money EVER again at this place. The beds aren't even that comfortable, there is only seating for 2 even though the rooms accommodate 4. The TV is situated in a really weird place, so unless you are sitting in the bed, watching TV isn't comfortable.
Due to lack of customer service, making 4 to 5 calls and not being able to get the Queen beds, handicap room and their not cooperating with me until check in day as I had 2 adult females (1 disabled) and an adult college student, I had to reserve a 2nd room as he needed his own bed. Both rooms were charged on my CC.
I dropped mom off at the door and they requested mom's CC for incidentals for the 2nd room before I could get into the hotel to explain the situation. They did cancel the 2nd room after we explained the numerous calls and complained; however, due to them requesting my mom's CC for incidentals, they gave her CC the full credit for the room instead of my CC, so now I have to fight for the credit to be corrected.
We were told the room was right around the corner when we arrived and were told to leave the vehicle where it was. We went around the corner, down the hall and found the room was actually all the way to the end of the hotel. It was better to park on the backside of the hotel and enter from the back rather than the front, especially with my disabled mother. This was absolutely horrible customer service, especially since the Manager, Darla Yarbrough, who directed us to the room and gave us the credit said her husband built this particular hotel and made it sound as though they owned it.
Be smart....stay somewhere else, save yourself headaches, heartaches and issues by NOT wasting your money here!! I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! Their website makes it sound like such a great place to stay, but it really isn't. They are so unorganized, the rooms aren't that nice (it's like staying in a Motel 6), the appliances are small (microwave is big enough for ONLY a tiny TV dinner) the fridge isn't even big enough for a 32 ounce Powerade. Honestly, this place was such a let down! STAY...
Read moreI made reservations for 2 rooms at the Courtyard by Marriott Northeast in Abilene TX as my grandsons had football games, called and spoke with Sue on Thursday, Oct. 13 who confirmed my reservation and went so far as to go ahead and block my rooms for arrival on Friday, Oct 14. After a 3 hour drive with an infant and kids, we arrive at the hotel for me to be told that my reservations had been canceled. I then asked who canceled them because I did not, Sue checks the system and says it was strange because there was not a name of who canceled the reservations. I assured her I did not as I would have gotten a confirmation email with the cancelation and would not drive 3 hours when I knew it was homecoming for Abilene and all the hotels were pretty much booked. ||||Sue then gets on the phone with whom I assume to be the manager and then I was told she would call the two Marriott hotels next door. Sue speaks with Jessica at Residence Inn and they had 4 rooms left, I advised Sue I am using my points and that the Residence Inn was not allowing points. Sue assures me they would accommodate us. I go to the Residence Inn and speak with Jessica, she then asks me to go online to see if it would allow me to use my points, it did not. I then spoke with Denise the MOD, she advised that the Courtyard should have sent me with a voucher for the rooms as it seems it was their fault my rooms were canceled. ||||Denise then speaks first with Sue and then with Katy who I think was the sales manager at Courtyard to explain the situation and that they should have provided me with a voucher. Denise states Katy was very rude and proceeded to hang up the phone in her face.||||Fast forward, Denise at the Residence Inn stated for us not to worry as this was not our fault and provided us with 2 rooms. Denise and her staff were sympathetic to our needs and very helpful and gracious. Thank you Denise and Jessica for your assistance in what could have otherwise...
Read moreWe decided to go with the Courtyard in Abilene as a venue for our business meeting and our experience was absolutely fantastic! Our meeting logistics were organize, executed and checked without a hitch by the Courtyard / Towne Place team with efficiency and quickness. Her attention to detail did not end with the emails and phone calls. We found her personally checking the room for quality before our meeting. She took care of everything we needed. Everything was presented, selected and executed. Nothing was left out.
The meal was amazingly well prepared and set up in a professional layout that was completed before the meeting began. The staff who laid the table and meal out did such a good job that we didn't notice they had been completing this task until we looked up. The table and utensils were clean and tasteful. The layout was inviting and orderly. Nothing was left out. The food was prepared phenomenally. The members at our meeting kept asking who catered the meal. They couldn't believe that the hotel had presented the food. The food was exactly as we ordered it with a few extras we did not plan for. We were pleased with the entire experience from the setup and the layout to the meal itself.
When we finished our meeting, the staff was quick to clean up. She continued to check on our room to make sure we had what we needed and when we asked for something, she found it. She was efficient, friendly and quiet and she smiled every time any of us interacted with her.
The bistro and lobby area are well planned and provide an atmosphere for being in a public area with a private experience. Every staff member we encountered smiled at us and greeted us. The check in was smooth, the room was clean, the amenities were relaxing and inviting. The entire experience and the quality of this property were we exactly what we are looking for...
