My wife and I love this little RV park. The RV park manager Lorie is such a delight. She is very friendly and a delight to work with and to talk too. Now for a realistic review on this Park. But before I get started, I want it noted that the Airforce on this post does not provide much support for Lorie and the needs of this RV park. Here we go. The lots are level. Some are gravel and some are concrete. Some have small pavilions on the side of your slot and some do not.
Cons: There is no doggie park, no playground for the kidos and the wifi is and has been virtually non exsistent for the past couple years that we have been coming here. These issues are a reflection of the leadership here on post and has nothing to do with the RV park Manager. As far as I see it any request to fix these issues and to improve the park for its Military veterans falls upon def ears. You will have Aircraft flying over head it that is something that may bother you.
Pros: Park Manager is wonderful. Restrooms, showers and laundry rooms are ALWAYS clean and stocked with amenities. Monthly rates are very reasonable at this park. The electric, sewer, and water are always consistent with no issues. The park is Very easy to get to once you come through the gate. The park is only 10 miles from white sands national park. If you have never been? It is an awesome place to visit. Other Places to visit during your stay would be the cute town of Ruidoso 40 minute drive into the mountains.. The Mountain of the Gods Casino is awesome with incredible views. ROSWELL is a short drive as well and Cloudcroft is a cute town in the mountains with a beautiful drive. The mountains here are incredible. The park has started a movie night on a huge big screen, they also have food to share and an occasional pot luck for those who chose to partake. My wife and I still enjoy staying here every year dispite the CONS here. We like the base which has a wonderful BBQ place on post and 3 food trailers in the PX parking lot and the food court inside. Do not expect too many RV items in the PX (slim stock). Again this is an honest review and by no way are we bashing this park. I am hearing that they are planning on building a doggie park and may have updated wifi in the near future. Crossing our fingers that the LEADERSHIP here will open up there hearts and start providing the Manager here with the things she dreams about for this park to support our Military active duty and retired veterans. Read moreI love Fam Camp! Lori, camp host is so knowledgeable about the area and keeps everything neat and clean. She has a flair for decorating and has really added life to the camp to make it feel more like home. Lori is always accommodating whenever you need anything and has a welcoming smile no matter what. When there is ever something bothering you about anyone staying at the campground, she deals with the issue promptly and diplomatically so that everyone’s stay is comfortable and fun. This is a great camp to stay at if you want to go to White Sands as it’s the closest o the National Park with electric, warm clean showers and water. Easy to get in and out with base access or a sponsor. Base also has a huge pool with slide and a ton of parks for kids as well as a large dog park and splash pad for the kids at the it park as well. Great commissary and exchange too. 5...
Read moreWaiting for on base housing, my family and I moved onto fam camp for 6 weeks. It was a fantastic decision. Besides obviously being super safe (it is located through the main gate), the camp sports full hook up for the rv and a shower/ bathroom that is cleaned daily and always fully stocked. Brand new washer and dryers were also clean and a god send for my family of 6. With a Few full timers (quiet and polite airmen), the other folks that came and went were all super polite and quiet. If you need a safe, quiet stop this is your place. Lori, who is in charge is a saint and will help you with any need for local tourist info to the right people to help with rv issues. Holloman afb fam camp...
