This place is usually our favorite place to stay because of the 2 bedroom suites that accommodates my family. The rooms are usually very nice and clean. There was an issue with dried blood spots on the bathroom door the last time we stayed but it was taken care of by hotel staff so it wasn't too big of a deal. During this stay, I found out there are no security cameras or I guess anyone patrolling the parking lot. The license plate from my vehicle was stolen while parked on hotel property.of course the hotel assumes no liability "for anything in the parking lot," but it does make me question how safe this area may be. I'm confused on why they ask me for vehicle information at registration if they don't actually have someone physically there checking the parking lot. The hotel may not assume liability for the parking lot but my personal thoughts are that for the price most people pay to stay here, shouldn't that also include peace of mind knowing not only they are physically safe but also their possessions will also be viewed as such? I have stayed here many times before with no issues in the past. The day shift manager was nice and helpful when I called to find out if the hotel had security or cameras, she did offer to call the police for me. The night shift guy was awesome too... I requested a late check the following day and he was more than understanding about why I requested it. The purpose of our trip was to enjoy the last weekend of the NM State Fair, and I had no intention on letting my family especially my kids down. It took forever for us to get to the fair the day we found out the plate was missing because police report had to be filed then of course driving around the city was also not an easy task because of the obvious reason of having not license plate. All the MVD expresses were closed by the time the police came and took the report. Long story short, we stayed at the fair until my family felt like they could say they had a good time. Once we got back, I still stayed up to make sure everything regarding my identity was intact as what happened is a form of identity theft. I stayed up really late checking what I felt I needed to check under the assumption that I had time to get rest in the morning. Not only that but I couldn't fall asleep right away because I was worrying if my vehicle would be safe...all the maybes running through my head. Anyway, I fell asleep at 5am and was woken up at 830 am by the front clerk to ask if I had requested the late check out and to tell me "we usually don't do late check outs for that time but we'll honor it today." So my rest got disturbed. I left that day with a major headache both because of stress from the situation and because of lack of sleep. I did end up complaining to the general manager which was kinda helpful.
Despite what happened, this is a nice place to stay. The staff is nice. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. In all honesty, statically this could have happened to anyone anywhere and I just happened to be that unlucky statistic. Management does need to consider security regardless of whether or not the hotel assumes liability of the parking lot. So of course don't leave anything expensive in your vehicle, lock all doors, park in well lit areas and uhhhh don't forget to take your license...
Read moreRoom was not nice at all. We have stayed in Staybridge Suites all over the country and never one that looked this shabby. The room was dated! It looked decorated out of the 80’s. The day we checked in was a Thursday. The young lady said they would do a light clean either on Friday or Tuesday. We scheduled it for Tuesday since we knew we wouldn’t need it the next day, especially during a pandemic. We did not want anyone in our room and were prepared to clean on our own. They ended up coming in our room on that next day for some reason which caused us to have to disinfect and sanitize again. There was evidence they entered our room. Back to the appearance of the room, It looked old and worn. Carpet was frayed, AC didn’t seem to work properly, several outlets did not work and every outlet was installed upside down. Only about 2 USB plugs available. The refrigerator did not have an ice machine. The refrigerator froze everything we put in it. I turned the Temperature down to the lowest and it still froze our food! We reported the outlets and they said they came in to fix it and it wasn’t fixed. That made it hard to plug in certain items. The water pressure in the bathroom sink was so low it barely came out. The hot water in the kitchen area made a really loud noise when you turned it on. There were no extra trash bags put in the trash cans. We had to continually ask for more along with towels and dish soap. I’m not sure why they would be so stingy with supplies. We didn’t ask for excess amounts. Anyway, they insisted they had to enter our room once a week to clean. The first time they cleaned they didn’t wipe counters, the desk or dresser or nightstand. They didn’t vacuum. There was visible lint, dirt, etc.... on the floor still. They didn’t leave trash bags or any extra towels. They never left any toilet paper. Two holders and we had a half of a roll only. We called and complained the day after check in about people being in our room without our knowledge. This was unacceptable during a pandemic! I am immune compromised. A week later when all of the other things happened and I complained to the front desk, the man working said, oh I took your first complaint and I’m getting tired of being yelled at. We were there for a medical emergency of a family member, and stayed 3 weeks. It was the worst stay ever. There were a few times we asked them to bring up trash bags and soap and they just never brought it. It’s hard enough staying in a hotel during a pandemic but 5his all made it more stressful. One time when we complained the lady gave my husband 500 points. That was a slap in the face. I have pictures if anyone is interested. We won’t stay...
Read moreI stayed here for about 2 months due to a travel assignment and had my two dogs with me towards end of last year. Majority of the staff were super kind and helpful and I can't appreciate the shuttle drivers enough when I had to get a car rental. I booked the 1 bedroom queen suite with a conference table and had a huge living space and my dogs and I were quite comfortable and had a small kitchenette.
The majority of my stay was good but I did have incidents where my key cards stopped working and had to try 4-5 times at the desk of going back up and downstairs with my dogs after working nightshift just trying to walk them before going to sleep, before a key finally worked. Apparently if staying for long periods they need to reprogram the key cards for time periods frequently or they will not work.
I cleaned the room and space majority of the time because I had housekeeping come once scheduled where I took my dogs out so they didn't have to worry and left a tip. Besides being vacuumed it didn't seem like anything else was done like nothing wiped down or anything. I wish I had not left a tip. Super disappointing so just cleaned myself and would exchange linens. Place was clean when I got there just the in between seemed lacking.
If working nights just be aware someone does vacuum in the afternoon almost everyday and does hit your door often while doing so, so if light sleeper will wake you up.
The only other thing that occurred was even after I left they had me down for reservation for separate timeframe and ended up charging me and I had to call to have reimbursed due it all supposed to be checked out earlier and shouldn't be reserved for any other times. I had some irritations that happened while there and my last straw to find different housing for last month I was in area for work was due to the keycard incident but overall it was a clean place and welcomed my dogs and me and just did monthly pet fee. A lot of other people stayed there for longer term for work and if working during the day it probably would've been a much better experience when it came to sleeping and such.
Also as others mentioned water pressure is lacking. I was on 4th floor and it was lame and breakfast wise was okay. I didn't get it often but would sometimes and they had some warm things and some cold options. On a bright note the freezer has its own ice maker so that was nice and there is a small dishwasher. The kitchenette sink is lacking size wise but does have a garbage disposal and there are two cook tops and pots and pans and basics...
