To be honest I'm sad that I have chosen to give this poor one star rating to a Wyndham Hotel, especially a Super 8 by Wyndham because I stay at these quite often and have for a long time. I'm sad because I honestly without a doubt do not like to give poor ratings or one star reviews at all, and I very rarely do, or have. The inexcusable and absolutely unprofessional, unhospitable and disgusting way that I was treated by the Front Desk Clerk for the overnight shift guided me toward this decision. And when the Manager decided to side with his rude employee, rather than me, my mind was made up. About 3 hours prior to my arrival to the hotel I was involved in the most traumatizing, most life threatening experience that I had ever encountered. Myself, along with 2 clerks of a local Walgreens in Houston, Texas were held at gunpoint and robbed at closing time by 3 gunmen whom upon entry to the store began firing their guns. The entire time that we were being held at gunpoint our lives were constantly being threatened and we were promised that we would not see the light of the next day if we did not cooperate. As I cringed in my own fear I began to weep as silently as I could while burying my face into the cold marble floor just trying to find some sort of comfort in the most uncomfortable position anyone could ever be in, and trying to hide my weeping eyes from making eye contact with any of them. I was the fortunate one i was not hurt at all. Unfortunatately, one of the clerks couldnt open the register because it doesn't open for reasons like robbery, he was pistol whipped so badly that he suffered major concussions and will never be the same again. The kids ran out of the store in loud laughter, with my purse being the only thing that they got away with. I presume that they were kids, extremely young because their immature behavior and appearance spoke volumes and because of the pure evil laughter coming from the excitement of possibly their 1st time robbing a store, beating an innocent man almost to his death, and scaring folks into beleiving they were to die? Who knows? What I did know is that it would haunt me for the rest of my life. I absolutely did not believe that it would haunt me immediately following the incident I would be discriminated against based on someone's assumption that I was lying and just wanting sympathy... The clerk at this hotel!!! ABSOLUTE DISCRIMINATION!! Then the Manager made his poor decision, after the local authorities the Houston Police had shown up! Originally they were called out to "escort me off the property" as the ridiculous Clerk ignorantly assured me would happen when he was calling them on the phone. When they arrived they confirmed that my "ridiculous sob story with no sympathy whatsoever given" was without a shadow of a doubt, TRUTHFUL and NOT a LIE! That I had just been previously robbed at gunpoint by 3 masked men whom opened fire upon entry and literally threatened to kill me and the 2 others there (whom were the employees working) only thing that was stolen during this robbery was MY PURSE which contained ALL of the important necessities all peoplw cherish like forms of identification such as your driver's license and social security card. It was at that point that I knew without a doubt that I was being discriminated against and it made me sick! Even though I had stayed at this Super 8 several times In the past I could not be paid a lump sum of cash money to EVER stay there again! It's unfortunate but it has been true in my life experience being transgender you are going to catch the brunt of society at times, I get it, and truthfully I had never really caught too much brunt, Nothing that I couldn't handle on my own and tolerate because I am a loving person, God-fearing person. This incident was by far the most ugly thing that I had ever experienced in my entire life and I say that...
Read more⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️WARNING⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ ⚠️⚠️⚠️READ ALL THE WAY⚠️⚠ I had an emergency work thing come up early in the morning but I thought I'd be back before check out. I wasn't unfortunately but I called the front desk and asked them if they could retrieve some of my items which was about $150 bottle of cologne and it's $200 set of barber clippers I was assured by the front desk staff that once I arrived there that they would have it pulled for me and of course it would not go missing. So I show up and I speak with⚠️⚠️ Purvi Patel ⚠️⚠️the owner / general manager acting as if he would have no access to any lost or left items as if he didn't have keys to the maid closet. Once I pointed out the fact that I knew he was a manager and I knew that he had keys and he could simply go up there and look without having the contact the maids first he finally obliged. When he opened the maid closet there was a hat and basically a couple bags of trash. Nothing at all the value as if nobody had ever left anything of value there but there was some left items but like I said it was all hats and a shirt or something like that nothing of any value. My $200 set of Clippers and $150 bottle of cologne of course Bob was nowhere to be found and how frustrating is that to have your stuff blatantly stolen. It's not like she picked up the Clippers and threw them away it's not like she picked up this expensive bottle of cologne which was sitting on the desk in the dirty roach ridden rooms. I would also like to point out the fact that the smart TVs they have in the rooms or camera TVs that you can do Zoom conferences on and such. ⚠️⚠️Just a heads up in case you enjoy privacy! ⚠️⚠️Do not come to this hotel if you do not want your car broken into!⚠️⚠️ don't come to this hotel if you enjoy being able to walk to your car or go outside and take a stroll⚠️⚠️ the second floor smell like weed from in the end.⚠️⚠️ Walking down the hallways you heard dogs and smell piss along with along with people screaming and getting beaten up in the rooms⚠️⚠️ oh and by the way I booked the room on hotels.com and of course once I got there that room wasn't available the only room that was available was $35 upgrade plus tax on top of what I already paid to hotels.com so it's like wait for a refund for 7 days or just pay him the money basically...
Read moreBeware of this hotel. Arrived after midnight and was told upon check in that there would be a 100.00 deposit. It's not on the website or anything. The front desk clerk acknowledged the fact of this as well. Having traveled almost 15 hrs, this was unacceptable. He dropped from 100.00 to 50.00 . I don't travel with cash so I went to find a bank. There is an ATM in the hotel, but I refused to use it. I returned 1 hr later to be questioned about which party was handicapped. Then he states that he has to show me the room. He shows me 2 rooms and who has time for all this at almost 1am in the morning. He proceeds to say housekeeping hasn't been showing up and a bunch of other stuff. So the handicapped room is blocked due to water. Fast forward, I said ok, I'll take the second room. He's like I'll talk to someone in the morning about getting the handicapped room." We'll I gather my belongings and head to the room. The key doesn't work it's flashing red. I let him know he's saying, "Keep it away from your phone. Now my phone is stored in my bag. I'm like, the keys are not next to my phone. He comes up and sees it flashing red and uses the master key to let me in. Repeating the same instructions again and said you can pick up your key when you come downstairs. At this point, I've had it. I'm not arguing, so I said what I said and was done with it. I wanted a receipt for the 50.00 I paid in cash. I did get it, and I'm awaiting a call from Wyndam in the morning. My personal opinion is that the guy at the desk is a liar. Know you get what you pay for. I'm here for an event, and this hotel was less than 2.2 miles from where I needed to be. In the future, I will make better accommodations selections. Is there a pro? Yes, the bed was comfortable. There was more, but for now, this was...
