Read moreI understand that its Covid-19 going on, but there shouldn't be issues with getting your bags to the room ( 1 cart and a half available ), they should be upfront in there services offered Free internet (0.51 mbps download, 0.25mbps upload) just so they can be included on search engines, I understand that they can make more money this way with business travellers but that isn't even who stays there, minimum limitation should be at least 5/10 mbps (a third of ATT phone Data Speed), they can still offer 100mbps to those that want to pay an extra $20/day. People have been partying on the floor with loud music and weed for nearly a week straight even in the non-smoking areas. There is always dogs that have been unable to hold it while on elevator so wet spots and 'spills' are everywhere. It is next to Aldine-Westfield ISD Complex and access to BTWY 8 which left this complex's cars and a few other cars in adjacent hotels broken into but there is little to no security. This place used to be the candlewood suites with the more upgraded service for less cost. There was an error in our registration on their end and even there system couldn't update fast enough to tell what rooms were left that we had to wait an extra 30 min. If you planned on cooking here, you can forget it unless you bring your own everything as it looks like people stole everything in the room including the coffee maker, thankfully they at least had some in the back (which they did give us coffee packets after we checked it out). The room is roomy in the King room but there is a lack of tables and chairs from the original candlewood design (accidental room was a queen which made me feel like the walls were going to close in on us), so when they say it is a slight difference in size its an understatement. The colors they repainted the complex with make everything small and doomy looking as well as the lack of bright white lighting. The windows may or may not shut as ours did not and all traffic noise and cool winter freeze air made it nearly uninhabitable since only two sheets (no blankets or comforters are available) to keep warm, so we had to go out and buy some. They do not clean the rooms except every 2 weeks, replacement towels are available so long as you do so in mid-day as early morning and evening its a hit and miss. I will subsequently pass on this hotel and maybe any other Extended Stay Americas if this is the standard of service they aspire to. The only exception is the 3 out of 4 employees that are the 'personalities' of the hotel that helped keep their cool while we were mad with the conditions and severe...
Read moreI could easily give this broken-down hotel a lower rating but there were some good things about it. Very nice shower head and the bed was comfy enough. The size of the room was just what I needed. The price and the kitchen. But everything is filthy!!! Its apparent the floors have not been cleaned in a very long time. Just gross! I was first given a room with a broken tv, garbage disposal and microwave. Plus, the wi-fi, even after spending $33 to upgrade as I need it for work, did not work at all! Leticia was helpful and did offer to move me to a 1st floor room saying the signal should work fine. For the most part, it did, but there were days where I lost money due to not being able to work. The breakfast is nothing to be excited about and when the manager took the key home leaving the staff unable to get to supplies, there was nothing. The next morning the coffee cups and napkins were not there. I mentioned it to Dee and she gave an excuse that they must have been already taken. She then put out supplies. This was late in the morning. The utensils that were given when I inquired were pretty minimal. On top of that, the coffee maker I was given was dirty and the filter had been left in there. It was quite moldy. The hallways and elevators are horrific. Trash of all kinds. Q-tips, chip bags, gum wrappers, etc. One very memorable thing that seemed above and beyond was when Kevin from the front desk offered to come help me set up my new pc. I am not the best at understanding certain things like this but he got it taken care of. One day, there was a knock on my door. Pest control needed in. There had been no notice of this, and I had just stepped out of the shower. I got dressed and he came in and barley did any spraying. A few days later, I started seeing bugs on the kitchen counter. One day, a couple of staff gals were at the front desk and were using the F word and hinting at sexual things. I believe that is not proper conversation in front of guests. When I call the desk from my room, it is almost never answered. I have been reading the reviews on the internet from different sites, and apparently these are the same problems they complain about. I see the hotel makes some apologies and promises in their replies but clearly there is going to be no change. I should say, there has been no change. I will not recommend anyone stay here unless there are absolutely no other options and even then, I say run...
