By far the fanciest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. All hotel employees were extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived too early to check in but we were allowed to store our bags by the front desk. Has a restaurant called Plato’s (very expensive so did not eat there). Stayed in an ADA room, huge! Has a bedroom are with 1 queen bed, kitchen area with microwave, fridge, and sink (2 plates with silverware and cups, even wine glasses if you’re a wine drinker, 2 glass bottles of free water to drink (do not take the bottles home unless you want to pay $10 per bottle, the bottles are replaced daily and are reused and filled with local spring water, the caps say sparkling water but it is not, still nice tasting water), living room area with 2 chairs and a love seat, TV’s in living room and bedroom, roll in shower, shower chair provided, sliding door to separate bedroom from the other rooms. When you turn on the TV it will greet you. Only found out about complementary breakfast on the last day but it was really good, they have typical breakfast food (pancakes, eggs, sausage) there is also a cook who will make you eggs anyway you want with a small variety of vegetables. The pepper shaker, at least on the table I sat at had a huge whole a dumped a bunch of pepper on my eggs, so be careful. I definitely won’t stay here again because I stayed for free and don’t have enough money but if you’re rich and like spending money I totally recommend this place. Also if you use a wheelchair Aspen is not very accessible and the hotel shuttle as well as most of the bus drivers acted as if they have never seen a wheelchair user riding a bus before, only 1 of the city bus driver’s knew how to secure a wheelchair, most didn’t even offer to secure my chair and since the securements were different from where O live I didn’t know how to tell who I was with so some of the drivers at least attempted most didn’t even try to secure my chair in so I would slide around and felt very unsafe. The driver who did properly secure me told me when I mentioned that most of the drivers said they didn’t know how, he said that’s not right, even bus driver is trained on wheelchair securement and can not...
Read moreThe rooms are stuffy and outdated compared to other places to stay in the area. Its not made apparent on the website that there is no air conditioning. I would overlooking this "rustic charm" if i didnt have a terrible experience otherwise. They also failed to notify and update websites of their pool and gym hours. They were advertised as 24/7 and 9pm pool closure. To add insult to injury my room key was deactivated 4 hours after checkin leaving me stuck outside in my swimsuit waiting on another key. So after a few hours of poor rest in a hot room and being told a manager would come out to talk to me (i. Instead had to call just to get the run around and offered another room that also did not have a/c) i reluctantly stayed. Although i really wanted to go to a nicer place. After waking up sweaty and tired i went to get a soda from the vending machine to be provided a $2 piss warm soda advertised as cold drinks. This place has some nice views and ammentities but not worth the price. So if your looking for a dry hot room and to be transported back to the 70s for that real mountian experience this is your place. I forgot to mention the pool and gym hours were changed due to covid, cuz we all know the covid monster comes out after 8pm...we were safe to limit hours packing more people into shorter hours of operation. Cuz covid is spread based on timing not exposure 😄 people's logic around covid...

Number one: for the money you pay, they provide you with cheaper toilet paper than an Econolodge does. Single ply has no cause for existence in a ‘luxury hotel’.
Number two: the room doors slam so hard, the entire building shakes, awesome when the drunks are coming home after midnight.
Number three: upon arrival in the unit, it was nice to find the refrigerator hot, and a huge pool of water that came flushing out as I opened the door.
Number four: had to make several trips from the car to the room, carrying luggage, and groceries. Several employees raced by me in golf carts, but not a single one stopped to offer me a ride, for what felt like a quarter-mile journey from the parking area to the room.
Number five: great access to easy hiking/bicycling trails, but no safe, direct, sidewalk access to non-hotel restaurants, or town of Aspen.
Number six: room service is only available for breakfast. The breakfast nook chairs look cool, but are the most uncomfortable thing you’ll ever sit upon. They really chintzed out on the seat cushions. The bath towels, and robes, all felt like sandpaper, smelled like cleaning chemicals, towels and sheets were ripped up, with obvious holes in them.
Number seven: only one side of the building has decks, to sit outside upon. You know, if being outside while in the mountains, is...
