Honestly, this is a small museum. However, everything is lovingly cared for and it shows. I Walked from Aspen, since the flier only mentioned onsite ADA parking, but there is actually plenty of non-ada parking onsite. Plenty of free parking. A local warned me that there was no bathroom onsite, but actually there are two new bathrooms! I posted a picture of current rates and a phone number to set up entry. And though I have been to bigger mining museums, this one has the rare distinction of having old equipment in working order. Watching one of the volunteers start old mining equipment is a rare treat

I attended a brunch for the Aspen Allergy Conference and was so glad I did. I absolutely love museums, and this one was perfect. Everything was tastefully laid out, and the curator was very knowledgeable. If you're looking for a history and explanation of how Aspen, CO came to be...this place is it.

A wonderful piece of Colorado history that gives you insight into both the mining and ranching past of Aspen. I would highly recommend going to the museum and going on tours offered by the Aspen Historical Society.

A nice little museum of history detailing Aspens booming silver mining period. When I say small I mean small, as it consists of a single small building and a few exhibits scattered around it, the most rest of the site is no longer standing. It's a very and informative tour about the history, not expensive and doesn't take a long time so definitely worth the time and effort.

The area around is very nice to walk around and moseying about in the afternoon during the summer and the fall when the leaves change. On a hill overlooking a small creek, Castle Creek. The tour is available at...

Stopped by with the family on the first Saturday of the month (free!) and had a great tour thanks to the knowledgeable staff. The intern, Dominic, in particular held our attention and showed a clear grasp of and interest in the material. You hear a lot about checked-out zoomers—he was no such youth. It’s not a massive undertaking but a solid hour if you’re at all into learning about the...
