Superior service, inventive food, and spectacular view. Plato’s was our favorite restaurant from a five-day vacation to Aspen. The restaurant is part of the Aspen Meadows Resort on the outskirts of Aspen; while this isn’t easily walkable from the city center, don’t let the distance deter you from making reservations and taking a hotel shuttle, private auto, or taxi to the location. The reception was friendly and efficient; our hostess accommodated our desired seating for a wonderful view but out of the sun (there inside and outside seating with umbrellas for shade outside). No matter the seating, the perspective is a spectacular scene across the valley. The service was fantastic; everyone was professional, friendly, and accommodating. The design and furnishings are sleek modern with good contemporary music in the background. The menu was smallish but very interesting with an emphasis on local ingredients. We tried a smattering of dishes from the All Day and Seasonal menus—everything was spectacular in presentation, taste, and inventiveness. The bar drinks were interesting and tasty, although the bar did tend to get overwhelmed at times. The prices were on the higher side (normal for Aspen) but well worth it—a top value among comparable local restaurants. Overall, I rate Plato’s as Highly Recommended—the best...

As a person who travels a lot, it is hard to find gluten-free without any cross contamination in most restaurants. I even have trouble at restaurants that have gluten-free options. Here at Plato's Restaurants, the dining experience is different. You ask how? They have real chef's prepare your food unique to each guest, not a mass production. So whatever your needs, whether it be allergy or taste, they can do it here. The other benefits of dining here are the beautiful views, no matter if you're inside with big windows or on the patio enjoying the weather. The sunset is pure bliss while dining and romantic. I had salmon and salad with a drink that was just perfect for me. The salmon was grilled to perfection, and the salad dressing paired well with the white win. I went during off-season, which was less busy, but I see why this restaurant is so popular and hard to get reservations in season. I would highly recommend this restaurant and go check it out for yourself. Tell...

I don’t usually write reviews, but my experience here was too disappointing not to share. I ordered the salmon dish, which was priced at $60, and what arrived was honestly shocking—a tiny, overcooked piece of salmon with limp, equally overcooked asparagus. The presentation and portion size were laughable, especially for the price. It felt like a dish that had no care or attention behind it.

When I brought my concerns to the manager, hoping for at least a thoughtful response, I was met with indifference. I asked if she would personally pay $60 for what I had been served, and she brushed me off, saying, “I’m not here to talk semantics.” That level of dismissiveness only added to the feeling of being completely ripped off.

I’ve worked in hospitality and know what goes into running a restaurant—but I would never serve something like that to a guest. Between the food and the attitude, this experience left a bad taste in every sense. I won’t...

We have eaten at many of Aspen’s best restaurants over the past 35 years and believe that the dinner that we had last night at West End Social was one of the best meals we have ever had. The service was superb and the recommendations from our server, Amber, turned out to be spectacular, particularly the salted celery root with a lemon infused meringue ( surprisingly made from fava beans) and a large section of very lightly charred escarole. We never would have ordered that dish on our own but Amber highly recommended it and boy was it a jaw dropper! Amber’s service was also impeccable - when I was debating which of two white wines to order for dinner, she poured me two samples to make sure that I would be happy with my final choice. The bottom line here: we will definitely want to revisit the West End Social on our next visit to Aspen.
