My rating is based mainly on the hospitality of the staff. So when reading this keep that in mind. I decided to stay here before my trip to Punta Cana and while it does need some tender loving care the staff went above and beyond to try their hardest and accommodate with what they had. My first room had a Heating and Air conditioner that's when the fan started up sounded like the prop of a aircraft starting to turn. ( Hear the video below) As you can image sleeping that night was a little tough because even with turning it completely off it still had a protection mode where it would turn it self on and make the sound every 10 minutes. This rooms TV the sound was also muffled so I think the speaker was messed up. On the plus side the water pressure in the shower was amazing and the WIFI was incredible so good I was able to even use my VR while in the Hotel while is pretty rare. While all this was going on they did have a fire alarm go off but it was handled in a very professional manner and it was due to the heated pool and how cold outside it was. There was no fire just a fluke that the sensor falsely detected it so they were working on that today when I left. I spoke with Lisa at the front desk about the Heater sound issue and we tried to put me in a few other rooms but they all had some issues too one had a broken wheel to the desk table so it just fell and another didn't have the best wifi. I asked to just have the Heat/Ac disabled and I would try to work in the room without it. They did that and even offered me a space heater. This by the way is above and beyond for a hotel!!! After a bit I took Lisa up on this offer and eventually I got too cold and decided I should probably change rooms she found another one right next door it appeared everything looked great so I moved it wasn't till the morning I found out the shower door was misaligned so when you close it, it just opens on it owns kinda annoying but I know after letting them know about all of this I am confident these issues will be resolved next time. You can fix all this stuff you can't fix staff and their staff in my opinion are rock solid and I would stay there again for that reason alone. Breakfast I thought was really good too they have these Quiche's that they get from Gordon foods that are so yummy and they switch out the meat, have a waffle station along with multiple drink options and fruit. (see pics of this) The restaurant next door (I will do a separate review on) but they are also pretty amazing and if you stay here and eat there they give you a 15% discount so keep that in mind! Tips to the management to make this a great property: Fitness Room: Add Treadmill, Make filtered water colder Room 124: Fix shower door alignment Room 125: Fix desk wheel on table leg or fully replace Room 126: Fully replace HVAC with newer unit, replace TV In all rooms I would check for stained curtains and make sure you have mattress protectors LIsa needs a raise for the level of professionalism demonstrated during this trying time. Do NOT stay here!! The hotel is old, outdated, and filthy!! If you have any issues at all manager is horrible to deal with and will absolutely do nothing for you!! She offered us compensation just to shut us up and then never ended up following through with anything at ALL! We checked in for two nights, upon check in the room had a musky "wet" smell to the room. The bathroom shower was covered with mold. Our kids were swimming in the pool when maintenance decided to come in and turn the fans on and add chemicals to the pool. The fumes were so bad, all children in the pool had to evacuate outside to get fresh air. We experienced many issues throughout our stay. The room we were assigned to had a soiled biohazard mattress. I have attached a picture of the mattress. So at 9:00 PM I went down to the front desk to request they move us to another room. They would not do so. The front desk attendant wanted to put another $500 charge on my account for the new room and I could "try to get a refund for the first room at at later time." So at that time I requested a refund, so we could leave. At that time, because they would not refund me, or move my room: I ended up calling Marriott corporate customer service. Again with us booking through the travel agency, they were unable to help us or make the situation right. After an hour the front desk clerk was able to get a hold of her manager and she ended up coming into the hotel and by 11:30 PM she finally moved us into a new room. The majority of our team arrived on 5/2, the day before we checked in. Coincidentally one of our teammates received the same room a day prior to us arriving. The staff was fully aware that the mattress was soiled and a biohazard. When I addressed that with the property manager, she stated they just "forgot to mark the room as dirty." Do yourself a favor and STAY FAR AWAY!!!

I stayed here for a couple of weeks, and I had an excellent time. As Marriott elite, I got upgraded to a executive suite from a base booking (I did stay off season), and the room was great, bed, tables, two televisions, couch that could turn into a bed in it's separate sitting area. I will say, there wasn't a "door" for the "bedroom" but that's what you should expect going to a Fairfield, I've been to a few of them, and the layout here is very similar. For longer stays, the policy here is that housekeeping only comes by once every 3 days, but if you need towels and such I was able to ask and receive them with no problem. As a young guy with no traveling companions, I didn't require any special accommodations, so I couldn't tell you how good they'd be sourcing a rolling bed or whatever. I enjoyed my interactions with the staff here during my stay, though to be clear, I'm always nice to people (but not a doormat either). I don't know if they'll treat you worse if you are mean, but I would say it's generally applicable that being nice tends to yield great results, and being rude rarely fixes things. Breakfast here is complimentary for everyone, and is standard, eggs, toast, juice, you know. As is normal for Fairfield, there's unfortunately no "vegetables" for breakfast. There's apples and oranges, but if you were looking for a lot of "healthy" options I guess there's oatmeal, yogurt and unsweetened cereal, but hey, that's what happens when rooms aren't crazy expensive. As someone that stayed for a while, I just went to a nearby grocery store, got myself some produce to put in my room fridge, and having some lettuce that I brought to breakfast myself was an inexpensive way to elevate my stay.

There is a lot going on here, and most of it isnt great.. but there were a few good things.

Negatives: *It was more expensive to book a room in our wedding block than through the website. When I pointed this out, it took 3-4 weeks to get the (manager?) to fix it all about a month out from our wedding. They kept saying they were waiting to hear back from the revenue manager, but when I asked them to call to speak with some directly about it instead of email, they would not. To their credit, they did eventually match their own price from their website, but not before 4 different couples/family members in our group booked elsewhere :/

*After I met with the coordinator, I was a bit turned off because upon entering the building there were 3 different signs stating that I must mask, but both staff member were unmasked, only wearing face shields. I work in the medical field, a face shield is basically a way of giving people who tell you to mask the middle finger. It doesn't do diddly squat. This is a droplet virus, you need to cover your mouth!

*According to Marriott's own policy vaccinated employees need not mask, but the unvaccinated must still mask (all prior to DeWine lifting things 06/02). When directly asking the coordinator if she was vaccinated, she dodged the question and said it was 'staff's choice to vaccinate.' Im not going to tell someone whether or not to get vaccinated, but if it is your employer's policy to mask if you aren't vaccinated, you better be wearing a mask, not a shield. It made me very uncomfortable. I had guests coming in from out of town who want to feel safe, and it wasn't reassuring.

*Multiple guests in our party were all checked in long after their check in time because their rooms had not yet been cleaned. They had to leave and come back because their rooms weren't ready.

*They messed up the Welcome bags. Two of my guests didn't get welcome bags and my parents, who were only to get one, got 2. I specifically gave the names of rooms for how many were assigned to each, so I''m not sure why it wasn't followed.

*The automatic door broke and fell on a guest when we were there and instead of moving it they just left it on the ground and put cones around it :-S

Positives:

*We have dietary restrictions, which can be hard to accommodate. They had nothing for breakfast that we could have, so the coordinator got us oatmeal that we could eat. That was very kind, thoughtful and we appreciated it a lot.

*They give you a complimentary room and shuttle for your wedding if your guests book 20 rooms.

*Play CLE is next door. Great fun for kids and they have a...
