I wish google would allow me to give this ZERO stars. I have been a member of the Y for a few years now and up until now its been mediocre. The recent change in upper management and ELIMINATION of an extremely successful swimming program has completely changed my view of this company as a whole. I will continue to be a member but I will not recommend this place to anyone. The copy and pasted responses on the other reviews coming from corporate are a joke on this matter. If you think your pools are "so popular" then maybe I'll upload a photo of the EMPTY pools at this facility. I have used your "world class" swim lessons in the past and I can tell you that I can teach my kids how to swim better in our own bath tub. Why would I pay someone to teach my kids how to blow bubbles and sit on the side of a pool? You may have standards for your instructors, but the ones that I've seen at this Y are more concerned about their snacks and social media than the kids they are teaching. I intentionally chose to use the Liquid Lifestyles (Thom Parson specifically) company to teach my children how to swim because I felt like they were actually learning how to survive in a pool if something happened. I am so very upset that this company was forced to leave this facility because of ONE woman who probably has not seen them and what they strive to achieve and who thinks she knows everything. I don't want you to send me the same BS response to these comments. Its not just about the children who are losing WORLD CLASS teaching, its the instructors themselves who this woman has no regard for their well being. She feels that it "isn't her problem". If the Y is all about the community, then make sure you include ALL members. If you have something you would like to say, please do so in person and don't hide behind this platform. I would gladly meet with upper management about this. Your "door is always open" comment is another load of BS. Ive called many times and have been shuffled to voicemail, and I have walked in only to be told "no one is here". ??????? I stand my ground on this and I will continue to pursue action until action is taken. If you are at all concerned with your members, then do something. Don't just respond to this with another wonky copy paste from corporate jargon......, DO SOMETHING! Change something, fire someone and make...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going to the Y for a few months now. A few times I have used the plyo boxes from the āprivate trainingā room in the weight room. Never once have been told I could not use them by employees or trainers, plus the room is always open when I have grabbed a box to use it elsewhere. Today, I grabbed a box while they were cleaning said āprivate trainingā room and asked if I could use the box to the employee cleaning the room, was told yes, carried the box to the weightlifting room so I could use it for hip thrusts as it would be a better height and most likely more stable than the wobbly benches they have. I carried the box past one of the trainers and she did not say anything about members not being allowed to use private training equipment, I took the box to where I needed it and then went to the bathroom. Only to come back and it no longer being there, so I went back to the āprivate trainingā room, where the trainer was setting the box back. I asked her why she took it, only to be then informed that itās not for members to use and only used for private trainings. But my thing is, I asked before going to use it today, have used it on multiple other occasions, and walked past the same trainer a few minutes before with the box just for her to not say anything at that time and to just come take it away the moment I set it down and went to the bathroom. That was honestly petty and rude, i would be less annoyed if she would have said something previously before I carried it across the upstairs area. But I guess she just enjoys being passive aggressive instead of speaking directly. Also if thereās going to be a āprivate trainingā room where only those people can use that equipment, how about telling trainers to not set up a circuit or their class in the middle of the upstairs area directly under or around the TRX area and instead...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been members for about a month... we are continually given incorrect/mis information from different staff members (though everyone we have talked to is extremely friendly). There is no consistent publication of program offerings. Apparently they are "paperless" so you have to ask the front desk so they can look on the computer and handwrite info for you on a piece of PAPER š¤¦š¼āāļø. Things seem to be cancelled often and lots of mentions of employees not showing up/quitting - possibly management issues? Today we went to the family fun day advertised on social media just yesterday. I called this morning and confirmed with the front desk that it was still scheduled, she put me on hold for awhile to verify - came back and said it is still on and listed in detail the activities planned. We arrive and check in, only to be told by the front desk manager that the family fun day is actually only every other weekend and is not today??? I pointed to the social media posts that were still posted and he seemed to indicate that was controlled be another office and they can't get it corrected? After voicing my concerns this manager indicated his best suggestion was that I should post negative reviews in places like Google as that seems to be the only thing that gets noticed by the Cleveland office - so here I am hoping...
