My boyfriend and I had a truly phenomenal trip to Evergreen Yurts, and I can't recommend them enough!
From the moment we arrived, the entire experience was seamless. The check-in process was incredibly smooth, and the open communication from the owners, Kate and Josh, was a huge help. When we got to our yurt, we were immediately struck by how much bigger the inside was than we had anticipated. There was a surprising amount of space to cook and dine, relax, and the bathroom was perfectly sized for getting ready. It was lovely to fall asleep to the sound of rain falling on the top of the yurt and to wake up naturally with the sunlight streaming in through the dome.
The property itself is a true gem. We loved exploring the groomed trails that connect the yurts to the main loop road, the creek, the firepit, and the community building. We took full advantage of the amenities, taking the canoe out on the creek for an hour and starting our own fire one night. The owners had clearly thought of everything—there was plenty of wood available and it was covered to stay dry, plus lighters and a hose were right there, making the whole process easy.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Kate and loved hearing the story of how she and her husband are from the area and that this land has been in their family for a long time. Kate was so attentive and easy to reach by phone, and her hospitality made us feel so welcome. The location was also perfect for us, as it was a quick and easy drive to downtown Bar Harbor.
We would absolutely stay here again and can't wait...

During our search, we found Evergreen Yurts and knew this was exactly what we were looking for! ||The location is great! Situated between Bar Harbor and Ellsworth with easy access to Acadia National Park. ||The yurts themselves have all the comforts of home with some extra added coziness. The moon/sun window was my personal favorite feature as the nights during our stay were pretty cold. Instead of standing outside to star gaze, we were able to keep warm inside the heated yurt while getting our fill of the night sky. ||We used the kitchen mostly for coffee, breakfast, and snacks opting to enjoy the local restaurants for our main meals. If you prefer to cook, the kitchen is stocked with all the utensils and cookware you would need. ||The bathroom is very spacious and the hot shower felt amazing after a long day of hiking in the rain! ||While it was too chilly for us to use the canoes this visit, we wondered around the properties trails and waterway admiring all of the beauty and sereness of nature. Also available for use is a fire pit which has plenty of seating and free wood to keep you toasty warm well into the night! ||We highly recommend staying here for anyone including families, friends, or even a...
Read moreWe stayed in yurt #8 which is dog friendly, since we were traveling with our two pups. We immediately fell in love with Evergreen Yurts and will definitely be back! Yurt #8 is right on the walking paths they have created and perfect for the doggos. The Yurt itself is the perfect combination of simple and everything you need. (Dishwasher, fridge, ice, broom, bathroom, kitchen table, futon, bed, dresser, nightstand, outlets, etc). Plus they gave us dog specific towels, treats, and doggie bags. Everyone else staying there was friendly and it was never over crowded. It was so close to Acadia, Bar Harbor, and a bunch of lobster pounds, but also far enough away to be secluded. They have canoes and kayaks which we didn’t use since we had the dogs but we walked to the lake area and wished we could have used them because the lake was beautiful! They also had a communal fire pit. All the extra amenities were communal but it felt like every Yurt was close to something which made it feel private for those staying near them. (Like the walking paths, fire pit, etc) My husband and I both loved staying here and already want to plan our next trip! Thanks...
