We have stayed at Woodland Park several times over the years and on our recent trip I was reminded of how special it is. The weather was in the 80s and we often swam off the dock at high tide. Being in a cove on Frenchman's Bay, it's protected from the ocean waves, making swimming much easier. I think it's also warmer than Sand Beach, and other places exposed to the open ocean. While we were there, a family with younger children, between 8 and 15 years old I'd guess, were paddling around on inflatable paddle boards they had brought and were having a great time. They did this almost every day. We rented a few of their kayaks and paddles around one of the days. Again, with the calmer waters, this was much easier for us (we are in our 60s). For those that aren't familiar with rustic house keeping cottages, the linens (towels, bedding) are provided for you, no need to bring your own. Also, there is a full kitchen with a stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, and the necessary pots, pans, dishes and glassware necessary. Our families stayed in Garden, Aloha, and Koze. We really appreciated the heat pump they installed recently in Garden. Also, with rustic house keeping, don't expect luxury, read other reviews here to get an idea on what to expect. I won't repeat them here. I included a picture of our dog on one of the carriage paths; another nice feature of Acadia National Park, dogs are allowed on the carriage paths. Our son on one of his daily swims is also included and a picture of the dock at night.

I have no words to describe how incredibly lucky we were to stay here in July’24. The cabins are rustic, but very cozy and clean, we had everything we need for our 2 weeks stay. It’s a family-owned place, so the service truly feels like the best of the best. We felt genuinely cared for. The location is beautiful and quiet, and at the same time it’s very close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. There are kayaks available at all times (at VERY reasonable price) to explore the shore (we were lucky to meet a seal at one of our trip!!!). We were also able to forage for mussels for dinner! The owner always made time to answer all our questions (and there were plenty over our 2 weeks stay), recommend the best activities and places to visit, give us advise for parking and service (Bar Harbor is very busy during the season. Overall, he is a wonderfully kind, attentive, and approachable person.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves real hospitality and local charm.

So grateful for this multigenerational owned gem that has not changed in all the lovely reasons. Cottages are still vintage of how travel was in years past, which I truly appreciate. Adam goes above and beyond if needed and I look forward every year and maybe we will stay in every cottage one day heh its set off the street, beautiful waterfront and true historic feel w wonderful screened in porches. Thank you Adam! Till next year !

Woodland park Cottages was a wonderful vacation with many activities and places to go. We went in the Fall to enjoy the mild weather and beautiful colors of Autumn. There are many cottages to choose from and they vary in comfort and size. There is a website you can look up and see for yourself. The owners are very warm and knowledgeable and can suggest many activities for you. They have kayaks to use for free. I forgot to mention the cottages are very close to the water and the views from the cottages are wonderful. We went rafting, fishing, hiking, sightseeing, candlepin bowling, and lots of eating lobster. I would recommend it to anyone and if you prefer warmer weather, summer is supposed to be a wonderful time, as well. People are very...
