I made a reservation online about 2 weeks before my stay. The first email that was sent to me for confirmation had a broken link that had a server error message stating the following:
"404 - File or directory not found. The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
I thought it was strange but knew I had booked the dates I needed. I saw the charge on my credit card so I figured it had gone through.
On the night of my reservation, I arrived just as an employee was leaving the check-in office. They asked me if I was checking in and I said yes, I have a reservation. They laughed at me and said, "no you don't". I was shocked at this response and asked what they meant. The employee told me that I had booked the wrong night for my stay. Again, I was shocked. I was then told that there was another individual who had tried for a reservation this same night and arrived at the same news - "you booked the wrong night". Was this actually an error that myself and this other would-be guest made, or something wrong with the online reservation system?
At that point, I asked if I could get a refund, as I was now stranded with no place to stay, over 3 hours from where I came from. The employee laughed at me again and said "no" while chuckling.
I could not believe the outcome of this situation. I have never been treated like this at any establishment. Due to the interaction I had and the seemingly unreliable booking/reservation system, I will not be returning.
I would be happy to reconsider my position if a refund were offered, but as of now, I am left very frustrated by...
Read moreI never stayed because they don't communicate well, but I was given a totally inappropriate attitude, gaslighted and legally threatened when I mentioned I would be reviewing my poor experience. On their own website it states that "You must receive an email from Aspenalt Lodge to be guaranteed a room." Well, I didn't find one and I stayed elsewhere which is where this all began. They called me and upon learning that I'd booked elsewhere, the employee taking the call (apparently a teenager) began yelling at me. They charged me the full rate despite not staying. Speaking with the manager (apparently the owner) later, it quickly devolved into the same unhinged screaming over the phone. This further devolved into baseless legal threats after stating I'd be posting a review of my experience dealing with them.||||I cannot speak to cleanliness or otherwise, but if you don't want to have your intelligence insulted, you don't want a punk teenage kid giving you attitude and don't want to deal with general dysfunctional business practice, there are two other hotels in Basalt.
