This place is absolutely adorable to stay at with kids or if you are a kid at heart. We stayed in the Little Mermaid standard room which can easily accommodate two parents and 2 kids. It's not a big room but you are not going to be hanging out in your room if you are planning on going to disneyworld. Our first night we ate their Landscape of Flavors restaurant located in their main building. The kid had a cheeseburger and the hubby and I had the bacon cheeseburgers. The only difference with mine was that the bun was gluten free and way to go disney. It's the best Hamburger bun I've had that didn't fall apart while I ate it nor did it remind me that I was on a gluten free diet. Disney, you need to sell these Hamburger buns in stores because you can make a fortune on that. As for desserts, the kid and I got cupcakes. The kid's cupcake was cookies and cream with chocolate discs for ears and I got the mermaid cupcakes. White chocolate mermaid tale on a vanilla cupcake filled with pineapple topped with vanilla buttercream and little crispy pearls. Granted the cupcake wasn't gluten free but my chances of coming back to disneyworld are not high so if there is something my diet I'm going to try but I'm being very selective about it and it's not going to be often. After dinner, we went and watched the Little Mermaid under the stars, well more like under some drizzle and on a damp ground but the hotel provided towels for guests to sit on. Afterwards, it was a dip in the pool until a thunderstorm decided to make a way over the hotel and put a damper on that. In the room, the beds are comfortable and sit a bit high. We found the height was good to slide suitcases under to keep out of the way but step stool would be good for those like me with bad knees to get up on the bed. I find it a bit of a struggle to get...
Read moreThe room we stayed in was building #7. In order to get to it we had to walk between two other buildings. There was a lot of walking just to get to the room. The room itself was nice but very small compared to other places we stayed in Disney. In order to get a bus we drove to the main building where you are picked up and dropped off. If you want to go to Epcot or Hollywood Studios there is no bus, you need to use the Skyliner (cable car). The problem is that guests from Pop Century also use the Skyliner. You need to arrive extra early. The first day we used it, I could not see the end of the line. The two days we used the Skyliner it rained at night and it was shut down due to possible lighting. They provided bus service but we had to walk in the rain to the other side of the park for the bus. We didn't drive when we took the Skyliner, it was close enough to walk. The bus dropped us off at the main lobby. We asked for a ride back to our room where a woman at the front desk provided one for us. Unfortunately in the dark and rain both times the driver dropped us off at the wrong spot which meant more walking. There is a good selection of food at the main building for snacks and full meals. If you have young children you may like to stay at this hotel but my wife and I would not stay here again. We chose the Art of Animation because it was less expensive than other hotels. Next time we will spend the extra money! If you are looking to stay here, look at the layout of the buildings. You can see some of the distances...
