We stayed in a Deluxe Suite at Pago Pago at Disney's Polynesian Village. We had a Standard view room which faced the parking lot. At first we were disappointed but then realized that there were many positives to this. Our room was extremely quiet with less families staying on this side. We also quickly realized that we were out of the room, in the parks for most of the days. When we were in the room in the evenings, the curtains were always drawn - so the view did not matter.
Some other great features: -We loved the location of Pago Pago. It was less than a five minute walk to the Ticket/Transportation Hub with direct monorails to both the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. We also took the ferry to the Magic Kingdom from the TTE. We used the main bus stop at the Polynesian to go to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.
-We watched the Disney fireworks from the nearby beach. There are Adirondack chairs and swings facing the park and Seven Seas Lagoon.
-Two bathrooms (one with sink/toilet/shower/tub and the other with sink/shower) were extremely beneficial for getting ready in the mornings. I wish more hotels offered this feature.
-The room has plenty of storage space with drawers under the Queen bed and a large closet with shelves. Both bathrooms have multiple drawers and shelves for items. We liked having the mini-kitchen with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffeepot... and room to store snacks.
-We liked having the ability to check in early once the room was ready. I received a text message at 3pm with the room number and was able to open the door via the MagicBand that had been linked to our account. Most rooms in the DVC buildings have a 4pm check in time...
-The cost to stay at the Polynesian is higher but it is worth the time/logistics too be closer to the parks and transportation center. Extra hours in the mornings and evenings also make the expense of the Deluxe...
