Hi, My honest review of the hotel is that I always wanted to stay here to see the grand reception/entrance and we booked a year in advance and the grand lobby was under construction which was an eyesore when we went and it was such a bummer… but can’t be helped as Edna Mode says “I don’t look back darling, it distracts from the now” things have to progress and be updated. ||We stayed in DVC and tbh, the light fixtures are not that cute (tacky) and the carpet was ugly, it gave modern vintage, more than vintage back in the day, and the ornaments are giving TJ Max vibes in the entrance area to the building. The bathrooms could be grander, a role top bath would be nicer, but they are clean, minimal limescale, well stocked with towels and you get the highest standard of cleanliness and the bed is the comfiest ever. I do like the updated rooms better, but when comparing with the most luxurious hotel in france, the chandeliers in disneyland hotel in paris and rooms are nicer and it doesn’t even have the word “Grand” in it, however i’m unsure if it’s fair to compare these hotels together, so sorry but my brain did. But I do still love the hotel and the theming is still kept throughout. ||The one thing I hated was that they store the wastebins and towel bins outside the room and sometimes the corridors of the building between the rooms smell, because of this, maybe they should install automatic febreze or something like they do in carehomes to block out the smell of this, but the convenience of them was handy because you can just dispose of your unused towels.||We also got housekeeping and we didn’t know you werent entitled to this as we were new to DVC, so very thankful for this! Maybe they do at Grand Floridian no matter what, but we learned in other DVC hotels that you don’t get this.||Still had a pleasant stay, so thankyou, staff are lovely and the restaurant and amenities were lovely. Bathbomb store is cool and the stores inside the hotel were also very presentable and had nice things to purchase (All 3) ||The monorail was kinda annoying as its only convenienct for Magic Kingdom and we actually found that it felt further out than other hotels we stayed in. (You have to change over for Hollywood or EPCOT at another station and its time consuming in my opinion) we thought it would be in a prime location |and the monorail would make things more convenient but I don’t feel this way now. ||I’ve experience a few hotels and Idk if i’d stay here again, but...
Read moreStaying at The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa has elevated my Walt Disney World visits to a new level of luxury. As part of the Disney Vacation Club, these villas combine the elegance and charm of the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with the comforts of home, making for a truly upscale experience. The resort's cleanliness and Victorian-inspired aesthetic are as stunning here as they are in the main hotel, with the added bonus of more spacious accommodations.
Castmembers' dedication to service stands out, ensuring every need is met with a smile and the efficiency Disney is known for. It's this level of care that makes the villas feel like a home away from home.
Transportation from the villas is nearly as convenient as it is from the main resort, with a variety of options including bus, monorail, and boat service. This made visiting the parks relatively effortless and enjoyable, adding an element of excitement to our daily travels. A couple of hurdles are needing to make your way to the main building or dock to access these options, and the time-consuming transfers to get to EPCOT by monorail as the only option.
The complex's size and layout, while impressive, can be a bit of a maze. The sprawling nature of the resort's grounds includes these villas, which means a bit of extra walking and exploration to fully orient oneself.
One of the highlights of my stay was watching the Magic Kingdom fireworks and the Electrical Water Pageant from the comfort of the resort's grounds. These moments felt exclusive and magical, making every night special.
In conclusion, The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian offer an exquisite slice of the Disney Vacation Club offerings, with the perfect blend of luxury, convenience, and magical views. Despite the resort's complexities, the charm, elegance, and exceptional service make it a must-stay for those looking for a distinguished Walt Disney...
Read moreWe went for Christmas. We had a large family trip and this was the only time that worked for our school and work schedules. The villas were very quiet and peaceful even during this super busy time. The resort was quieter from 12/22-12/24. It looks like more guests arrive for the week between Christmas and New Years. It got very busy on the 26, 27, 28. The resort is extremely clean and upkept. The only difficulty was the Villas front desk staff. They had an attitude of "not my problem" even though they were fully in charge of booking rooms. We stayed in two different levels, a deluxe studio for 3 nights and then a 2-bedroom for the remaining 7 days of our stay when additional family members joined us. They gave us the worst room for our studio stay. It was much smaller than the other studios and was supposed to be lakeview (which costs more), which you could only see if you strained your neck. It was also located on the 1st floor. It was not the nice room we envisioned. I don't know that I would ever spend more for a better view given what they booked us in. Then for the 2-bedroom stay, they again tried to place us in the worst room in the building. I refused and said we would wait for another room to become available... They gave me a lot of attitude, said they could not accommodate, that nothing else was available... yet miraculously they found 2 other room options within 5 minutes. This was our first stay at the villas at DVC members, I did not expect that on a welcome home visit, they would try to stick us in the very worst rooms. It was incredibly disappointing. When you spend over $40,000 on DVC you don't expect to get the bottom of the barrel at a...
