Read moreThe Walt Disney World RR sits at the front of the park and one you can easily miss if you don't think about it. Dedicated to Walt Disney and his love for trains the train makes a complete circuit around the Magic Kingdom with stops in Frontierland and Fantasyland. You can disembark at any of these stations or ride all the way around.
I find a complete circuit is the way to go. Recorded narration tells the story of the train and the different lands as you ride through them. In Frontierland you can see bits and pieces of a Native American Village and in Tomorrowland you are "screened" by Tron to make sure you aren't an intruder. It's all part of the fun and a good way to get off your feet. Safety is a key issue when riding the train and they make sure you cannot board or disembark until given the all clear.
The ride is pleasant and relaxing and a great way to get off your feet after all that park walking.
The Main St station itself has some historical paraphenalia to take in including that of Walt and his wife Lillian. Check it out if you have the time. The front of the train is one of the most photographed areas of the Magic Kingdom since it sits directly behind and above the main entrance. No visit to the Magic Kingdom would be complete without a ride...
