Unfortunately I have to give a negative review. We’ve stayed at a few Sun RV Resorts, and never had any problems. But when we arrived at this one, I immediately noticed it didn’t look like the website photos. They also told us we would have to unhook our Jeep. We were just there for one night. They told us the wrong way to our spot, they didn’t have anyone to escort us to spot. We are 41’ long pulling a Jeep, and were basically stuck where we were told to turn. Then the maintenance guy came out to direct us in his golf cart. Unfortunately he took us on two tight turns, and under a tree that needed trimmed, and we heard scratching by the limbs. Had to go through wet mud as well. We were obviously upset, after driving all day. The manager came out to apologize. The campground has overgrown trees, sharp turns and street signs are placed right on corners where you need to turn. Once we were settled, I walked around, and 2 roads over from us is where all the big rigs like ours were parked. Huge paved spots, no trees, and no need to unhook. It’s hard for me to understand why knowing our size and that we were pulling a jeep and staying one night they wouldn’t have just put us in one of these spots in the first place. Keeping in mind, I called to make this reservation. I did not do it online so I spoke to them and they knew our size and we needed a pull through spot and that we were pulling a jeep for a one night stay. We were greatly disappointed and will not be coming back to this campground. I gave two stars instead of one because the manager refunded our hold the spot fee of $35 but we still paid for the spot for the night. She was very apologetic, but it was still not a...
Read moreI stayed at this park for a month. Probably one of their best features here is clean facilities. The laundry mat is extremely clean. Their bathrooms are extremely clean. As soon as you pull in you know you’re stay isn’t going to be dirty. That is one thing that makes Ocala Sun stand out from the rest. It’s also family friendly, the roads are paved and wide, great for a night time bike ride. The landscape of this place is something you know they take pride in and value. The people are friendly. The staff is friendly. The lots are for the most part very level. It can be a challenge to leave in the mornings since they are on a main artery when it comes to the road outside of the park. It’s an easy ride to Walmart from the location and there are food stops very nearby as well as grocery stores and gas stations which I found convenient. The atmosphere feels safe. And for anyone who struggles with dealing with bugs, it’s hard to find a location in fl that doesn’t have roaches, this place is so clean and well maintained. I would have stayed longer than a month. And I would definately return to this park. I’ve stayed at many parks in the year I’ve been down in this area in florida and Ocala Sun was one of the best. I completely recommend this park. Well...
Read moreMy wife and I have camped here 4times over the last 2 years. Each time we have brought our 3 dogs with us and scooters that we ride. The last time we camped there, I was told oh, you have a loud scooter, if you don’t bring that you can camp here. Today, I tried making a reservation and was told because we have 3 dogs we can’t camp here unless we leave 1 behind and only bring 2. AND if we get caught with 3 dogs we will be kicked out and never be allowed to camp there again. This in not pet friendly or customer friendly. Two times we are told to leave something behind. All of the Harleys in the campground are way louder than any scooter. Previously allowing us with our dogs and now shutting us down. So much for pet and family friendly.
In reference to your reply, no one ever addressed us at the time about the noise of my scooter, which is not half as loud as all of the Harley bikes living there permanently. I always Obeyed the speed limit and not one staff member ever came to me during our stays there. This was a lame response on your part in my opinion. Same as with our dogs, not one staff member ever said anything to us about our dogs while we were there. Shamefully that were told to leave a pet behind. Should have...
