On the road in search of food at 12AM almost one. I’m pre-diabetic and I can feel when my blood sugar is getting ready to drop (and it doesn’t feel good); sadly, all the 24hour fast food joints, so happened to be closed. So, I was stuck coming here. Where their service is slower than a turtle because they don’t know how to work as a team. The “salesperson” Hailey disappeared for like 10 mins after taking someone’s order, then she reappears just to be lounging around “calling orders” so she says. Then, you got someone (Justine, I guess another “salesperson”) not doing anything, literally lounging just looking around- when they could help ring in orders. It’s not like you can order online (or else I would). And, when you try to call their number to order ahead no one answers (I tried 3x’s- nothing). Myself and another person were waiting for almost 15 minutes before I finally announce the two salespersons who were both lounging and doing nothing and asked if they could take our orders, to get an attitude and told that she was going to take our orders. When I told her she’s just sitting around doing nothing, when she could be using her time wisely and ringing up an order- she (Hailey) tried to argue back and twist things saying there’s people in front of me who need their food. I perfectly understand that, but my point is use your time wisely- people in fast food or food services really struggle with the concept of using their time wisely. Of course, my sugar progressively dropping at a little to do with my frustration, but also the lack of consideration and common sense, also poor team work. If this Hailey girl was really calling orders out to the cook line; Justine had no papers in hand or anything, was just sitting/ lounging right next to her. Why didn’t Justine be a good team player and take the orders? I’m not asking for your first born or you to magically skip the line and give me my food, but for you to use your common sense and...
Read moreQuality of the food was great, ordered a chicken sandwich with lettuce, pickles, and mayo. However, when I walked in, there were only two tables occupied, and all of the other tables were still occupied with dishes. The bar top was occupied by two people, and the other seats had closed seating handwritten signs on them. I was also informed they were only doing to go orders. Having worked at Waffle House in the past, we all have rough nights but there was just a complete lack of pride in trying to do any kind of a quality job with customer service. When my order for the sandwich was taken, the cook and wait kept talking - non work related - for another 5 minutes before the cook decided he was ready to throw my order on the grill. The wait then proceeded to just openly complain about previous shift leaving dirty dishes on tables - while she has almost every table full of dirty dishes. Waffle House management needs to seriously hire more people, and more that have pride in their work. Pride in your work will almost always equate to better tips. This is the nature of restaurants where you wait on people. Unfortunately, you will have bad encounters with bad customers. I will admit, that since this was made to be a to go only option order, no, I did not leave a tip. Had she not complain the entire time, and the cook actually start doing the job he’s supposed to as soon as they hear an order, then I would have left a couple bucks for a $7 order - that already has gratuity added...
Read moreA group of us visit this waffle house very frequently after rising trails on the weekend. Last night while visiting we had EXTREMELY slow service. I was in the restaurant industry for 30+ years so I'm very understanding. Our server was very polite but she would take 2 orders at a time, turn in the ticket, deliver the food and then proceed to the next 2 orders. There were I believe 18 of us in total.. there may have been 5 other customers in the restaurant. It took in total almost an hour for everyone to place their orders. We were the 1st two to order.. by the time the 2 next to us were ordering our food had been served and we were almost done eating. My friend requested a manager, we were told there wasn't one on duty 🤯.. when she let Richard know that we had been there for over 45 mins and they just placed their order he was EXTREMELY hostile. " Ma'am you can see we're obviously very busy" again with our party.. then told her from across the restaurant his name again and said "Do you need to know how to spell it" he was being very sarcastic and unprofessional. Sadly the person in our group he spoke to this way loves waffle house and always makes it a point to get us all to go. I foresee this being our last visit to this location. Very unprofessional, hostile...
