I actually made a reservation at the Super 8 in O'Fallon due to the good reviews When I got here I noticed the clean parking lot and freshly painted building. When I checked in the did not have a reservation but "V" was extremely courteous and patient. They charged more for the room but less for the dogs I brought so it was a wash price wise and closer to the dog show. The lobby was spacious with a free breakfast that includes juice, cereal, I am guessing muffins and Danish as well as coffee. With a standard 11:00 checkout, I am looking forward to sleeping in AND a nice little breakfast to start the day.
I was able to get a King Down and Out (my preferred room type).
The room was large, clean and obviously freshly painted with updates decor. Lighting was great!!! New split Heat/Air System. Matching bedspread and blackout curtains, New bathroom Vanity with plenty of towels and toiletries. While the carpet was dated, it was very clean. The room had a fresh clean smell, not masked. There was also a refrigerator and microwave with at least a 42" Flat Screen TV. I had a little trouble figuring out the remote, but "V" came to my rescue and showed me how to change the channels.
There is no green space on the property, but a great grass spot on the other side of Main Street and a dog friendly park a block away. The carpet is a dated black and brown that didn't show dirt but had obviously been freshly clean. "V" told me they were planning to replace the flooring in all the rooms next summer. I recommended Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) due to the affordability, ease of installation, and cleaning. With their new gray on gray theme there are plenty of wood look LVP that would finish the update beautifully.
The location is fabulous as well. Right on Main Street it is a short walk to multiple trendy bars and restaurants (that is another review). The neighborhood looked very save and saw many people from the dog show walkingThis and despite the second weekend in December the weather was great.
This will be my go to whenever I...
Read moreSecond time staying here, first time staying in the downstairs room with the jacuzzi. We arrived around 4:40 with the understanding being we could check in at 3:00. The clerk who checked me in asked that I wait a moment while he checked to see if the room was clean yet. Unfortunately, it wasn't. We were disappointed, yet famished, so we went up the road to eat at a local pizza parlor. We returned a little after 5:00 and were able to get right in. I understand there may be some difficulty staff wise as it is most places these days, so I offer Grace there with the delayed check-in but I think some kind of comp should have been offered if only allowing us to check out later if we had wanted to. It is a pretty decent room with a good size mini fridge and a microwave. They advertised a coffee pot but there was not one in our room. The cleanliness or lack thereof is the real turn-off here. I was unsure how accurate their covid precautions were as far as cleanliness because overall, it was just gross. Personally, when I go to any hotel, I bring my own bath linens, pillows, and pillowcases as well as Clorox wipes. I'm really glad I brought a brand new tub of wipes this time because I definitely felt compelled to wipe a lot of things down. The bathroom was falling apart under the sink, and the hair dryer didn't work so they definitely need some updates. The Wi-Fi really sucked and so I didn't even really utilize it. The TV was not really to the setting I like for the picture, and you are unable to change the color setting. They have a great variety of cable stations. The jacuzzi tub had a lot of old cigarette burns in it, but being a smoker, it didn't really bother me so much since it's not my house. Didn't try their breakfast or Express. I would stay here again for a quick getaway, but I would most assuredly bring a full tub of...
Read moreFirst off going into the room, room appeared clean but bathroom was gross. Mold in the shower and unclean toilet. I’m a traveling cna and work nights so I usually speak with the front desk and work out me giving them a heads up when I’m leaving and I just pay a couple hours late. I pay them, everyone leaves me alone so I can sleep during the day. Stayed at many super 8s before this and NEVER had an issue. My card was charged twice without my prior knowledge and once they tried to charge it a day after I left! When I specifically went to the office at 10am and told them I was leaving. I usually stay a month at a time but I only stayed here a week. Staff was rude and completely inconsiderate. Had people knocking on my door almost everyday waking me up between house keeping and a staff member actually told me to get out of my room because check out was 11 and they were fully reserved so I had to leave. The manager ended up fixing the issue but for a hour I had picked up all my stuff and was about to leave. They came to my door with a new ac and told me that they had to come in the room for a few minutes without prior asking if that was even okay, didn’t check to see if I was awake or anything. On top of that I had to unplug our phone because we were being pestered about coming down and paying. In conclusion if you are a night shift person and need to work with this motel and don’t want to pay weekly rate right off the bat this isn’t the place. Everyday there was sketchy people coming around so you would think they would leave you to your business if you’re paying then $80 a night for a semi clean room. I mean I’ve always experienced flexibility with my night shift and after my first week being there and liking the place I start paying weekly rate. But I will absolutely not be...
