PLEASE BEWARE of CREDIT CARD INFORMATION THEFT. I stayed here Tuesday night , checked in around 2am with someone named “J bascal”. I’m not too sure that is the correct last name as the other employee I called today was not helpful and would not give me the guys name that checked me in. I woke up this morning to fraud notifications from my credit card company stating there was $121 charge at a restaurant in forth worth. Then a charge to Hulu. The charges were made online, to be sure no personal information was known of the person that stole the card. This is probably not the first time this employee has done this. The last time I used my card was at this hotel. He told me not to put my credit card in the machine, instead he swiped it on his own on the computer (which I found out through the manager that not using the machine is against policy) I was driving across country and stopped there only for the night to get some rest. I woke up today in TN after not using my card at all, since the comfort inn. I thought I might have left my card in Texas, but nope, it was in my purse. The only logical explanation is that the employee checking me in copied my credit card information onto whatever he swiped it on. My mom said she saw him write something down which might have been the security code. I have filed a complaint with management of the hotel, and have also contacted Choice headquarters and filed a formal complaint that has now opened an investigation. The manager admitted wrong doing of the employee for not using the correct method of payment and I hope he faces repercussions for his actions. He also asked me multiple times to not write reviews online , but I have to share my experience and warn others, this was not ok! PLEASE BEWARE of charges on your card after staying at this hotel (or any hotel) if you use a credit card. It’s so disheartening that someone working in customer service would do this...
Read moreThis hotel is not customer service friendly. It is a great location, fairly new property, clean rooms all of the amenities of a Comfort Suites. Issue came up on Nov 6 Monday the day after the Texas church massacre. Breakfast nook had the TV channel on Fox News. We were the only couple in the Breakfast nook the entire time we were eating. Fox was covering the gruesome massacre that killed 25 and wounded another 20. It was upsetting and we asked that the channel be changed to something else (Weather channel is always good). We were told that "Corporate dictates the channel always be on Fox and that the property would get a $200 fine if someone from corporate discovered differently." Well frankly Choice Hotels Guest Relations has never heard of such a policy and that if there were anything even close to that it would be done at the local property level. I'm a little bit old school and think the guest is always right when a reasonable request is made. Given the circumstances and how upsetting the news was the day following this tragedy, and that we were the only guests in the breakfast room, the property should have been willing to take a chance on a $200 fine and turned the channel. The TV's power button had been locked out, you could not turn off the TV, I tried, there was no remote, and I was able to turn the volume down. But short of taking a sheet out of my room I could not make the images go away. Personally the reason we were given was insulting to my intelligence. I think it was a contrived made up answer. I'm a Platinum Choice Rewards guest and I've never seen a breakfast nook where there was not a channel changer and a reasonable request like this not accommodated, especially under these extenuating...
Read moreWhen booking a hotel I usually look at the reviews. Comfort Suites had very good reviews so my family and I decided to book 2 nights there.
The surrounding area didn’t look clean but the hotel lobby was clean. Check in was easy and the make front desk clerk was pleasant.
Upon entering my room initially I found what appeared to be a snotty napkin that an employee came to retrieve and dirty carpets. As I was inspecting the room further (we had been there a couple hours) I found molded/red splatter stained curtains, one of the slide bars for the inner block out drapes was broken, dusty microwave (like it had not been cleaned) and hair in the shower to name a few
The Breakfast only has limited options…pork bacon and sausage..o…no Turkey option
Parking lot has sign that says take all belongings…I asked if the area was safe to which the male front desk clerk replied yes.
After our first night we had dirty towels and so my husband called the front desk clerk and asked her if we can just put them outside the room. The female front desk clerk replied that we had to bring it downstairs to which I replied she needed to send someone up to get them. She then told me to go ahead and put them outside.
There was no bedding for pull out chair…we had to once again go downstairs and ask. I used to extra bedding for pull out chairs being in the closets.
There are no shampoo, conditioner options one eh shower like some modern hotel but they do offer the tiny bottles.
We paid 135/night and it was not worth it at all…
The only pros were that the male front desk clerk and host for breakfast bars both had good customer service and the location is near restaurants and things for families to do.
I would not...
