One of my favorite things about small towns is eating at random restaurants that serve "comfort food". That is just what this place advertises. I read reviews of how expensive it was, but I really thought that people had to be exaggerating. Oh my, when I saw the prices on the menu, we almost left. When they were out of my first choice of $21.99 half rack of ribs (full rack $29.99), I ordered a $17.99 pork chop. "Maybe this will be the best pork chop off my life." I thought positively as I made my way to the salad bar. Also looking at all of the other dinners and wondering how they afford this place. I'm a city girl and paying this much for dinner would mean a fancy night out. Well I'm 40 years old and I've NEVER in my life said I can't eat a plate of food at a restaurant, but after digging into my (again $17.99) pork chop plate that was a slab of meat and mashed potatoes I realized that I could not eat it. It tasted almost raw. (Spoiler alert: what I did eat made me sick later.) If it had been 10 bucks like it should have I wouldn't have said anything, but sheesh I was paying fancy steakhouse prices. My kids liked their $5.99 scoop of Kraft macaroni and cheese (probably wasn't Kraft though) and my husband liked his chicken fried chicken. Instead of taking the pork chop off of our bill they took off the two kids meals. So in the end I still had to pay $5 for my raw chop. Our waitress was sweet, but after asking if we wanted ketchup, she never came back for it so we had to get it ourselves. Overall, if I can keep just one person from eating anywhere but here, the world will be a better place. Eat at Subway and save...
Read moreWe stopped at this restaurant on our way back from a national park. We were headed to our Resort in mexican Hat Utah 1 hour away . We went in sat down got a menu and the waitress promptly told us that they were out of every one of their signature? Items ribs, steak and pork chops. How in God's name if you live where there is a grocery store can a restaurant be out of pork chops. I asked about a hamburger and was it actual hamburger or was it patties ? waitress told me that it was frozen patties from Sysco Foods. At that point I wanted to leave but my husband being the nice guy that he is did not want to get up and walk out. So then I asked if the Indian taco was actually made with Navajo fry bread she said absolutely and it was not it was made on boli bread that you can buy at any grocery store. The chili con carne on top of it was ground beef and the Navajo never use ground beef that use actual stewed beef. My husband had a chef salad with grilled chicken breast on top. My husband got so sick to his stomach we almost didn't make it 1 hour away. I won't go into the awful details. I would never eat here again or recommend and I'm seriously thinking about calling the CDC and Reporting the illness incident because there have been reports of people getting ill eating...
Read moreThe food was OK, not great (burger and fries). Burger was over charred. Main complaint was method of handling Covid restrictions, which didn't make sense and relied only on the "magic goo" hand sanitizer that was required when entering. This was very sticky glop from a huge jug; no way of knowing if it was one of the hundreds of identified dangerous sanitizers identified during the pandemic. There were no napkins on the table, so no way to wipe it off before eating. After the glop, there was no special attention given to sanitation. Servers wore masks and gloves, but didn't change gloves even though they were touching surfaces everywhere that could have been contaminated. Menus were regular plastic menus, not sanitized between customers. Full-sized condiment bottles were on the table, not sanitized between customers. Tables were simply wiped with a wet rag between customers; bottles and chair backs (all touched by customers) were not wiped. Salad bar was self serve with only mask required. We're not overly scared about Covid, but did resent being forced to use the magic goo in order to eat, especially since we were not provided napkins without asking. Once back in our room, we washed our still slimy hands and it took a bit of soap to stop...
