I wouldn't even give 1 star! I arrived at the Boise Hotel after a 10 hour drive from Wyoming, from a 4 day trip from Ohio to Oregon to deliver a service animal, tired and ready for sleep. I tried checking in, where they had no record of my reservation that I had made 3 days prior. After 10 minutes of searching through the same A through Z letter box and finding nothing the manager offered to book me a room, which I kindly agreed, at this point just ready to get some sleep. I informed him I had 2 service animals with me and he shoved the pet policy towards me and informed me I would be charged a pet deposit of $20 per animal on top of my $50 room. I kindly refused, as they are registered service dogs and I had proper ID cards and paperwork with me, informing him it's against federal law to charge a pet deposit for service animals. He told me I wasn't disabled!!! and would be required to pay the deposit or they wouldn't give me a room for the night! IT IS AGAINST FEDERAL LAW TO CHARGE FOR SERVICE ANIMALS!!! I tried calmly and kindly to explain he had no right to say I was not disabled, I had proper identification and ID's for both animals, which he refused to look at! saying it was hotel policy and he argued with me saying it wasn't a law and I should go read the amendment! I googled the current FHA law, proving you cannot charge for service or esa animals that it was against the law where he still refused to wave the pet fees! I asked him to please give me my credit card and drivers license back that I would find a different hotel and would report them to the better business bureau. I also called the booking company to make sure I wasn't charged a cancellation fee, where they have to contact the hotel, which of course, refused 3 phone calls and an email from the booking company! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! absolutely horrible service, run down facility with no idea what customer service is or the federal laws regarding service animals!!! spend the extra $20 and go across the street to super 8! DO NOT GIVE THESE...
Read more1st room had a foul odor, toilet was used, toiliet handle had blood stain, room dirty with stains all around, heater dials faded, Front desk clerk was reluctant to get me into another room.
2nd room was supposed 2 b a clean room as the 1st one. Bathroom had fecal matter on the floor.
3rd room was ok, not clean. Proterty is owned by the same people as the Americas best value and Ramada. All next to each other. I asked if i could move 2 the America's best value n pay the $6 or even $20 diff. I've stayed at the America's best value next door. Its slightly better, not by much. Front desk clerk said no. Water was either too hot or too cold. Mattress was old worned out with cigarette burns on the sheets. It was late, i was tired n needed to get work done.
Housekeeping came over at 10:28am. I told the lady. "Its 10:30am, why are you already knocking on my door?". She blatantly denied being 10:30am, she said its time for you to check out. Its 11am already as she look at her watch and realized it was 10:30pm. I told her all the mishaps n she was defensive about everything, because she clean the rooms she said. She wanted me to take a shower w scolding hot or cold water. I said no. She was supposed to get Maintenance, but never did.
At 11:15am, I headed over to the front desk. Two men were on their fones. I asked to speak w the manager. One of them said, I am. As I started explaining, he got his phone n then on a call instead without even trying to acknowledge me as he replied he was the manager. I went over to the ramada n asked to speak to their general manager Jay. The front desk said I needed to speak to the lotus manager, not the ramada. Which i tried. Again, they are all owned by the same people.
Go someplace else, some place decent. Pay the xtra $6.0 elsewhere. It's so worth it. There r plenty on the other side of the interestate by...
Read moreFirst, the Boise Hotel has been taken over by Econolodge. We were stopping for two nights on our way through and selected this motel for it's price. Well, you get what you pay for. This location is difficult to find, as it's behind another motel which is behind a gas station. We finally located the building. We checked in, which took a bit longer than it should have. We have had a bad experience at a previous Econolodge with bed bugs, so once we were given our keys, we went to check it out. We didn't find any bugs but noticed our mattress had a huge stain in the middle which looked like it was probably urine, but your guess is as good as mine. There were several layers of bedding, so it wasn't a deal breaker but we went to go ask the front desk how the stain was treated. He shrugged and said that housekeeping vacuums the rooms but has no idea what happens with the mattresses. We requested another room. We received a different room, which is also non-smoking. The moment we opened the door, it was apparent that someone had been smoking in there. The smell wasn't unbearable, and like I said, you get what you pay for. We noticed that the smoke detector had a plastic bag taped over it. We went to tell the front desk just so he knew that it wasn't us and we wouldn't be charged any additional fee. Again, he shrugged and said he would remove the bag, which wasn't the point. He did come in and take the bag down. The room itself was passable; generally clean, but old and dilapidated. It was minimally furnished, even for a cheap hotel. After this experience and our last at another Econolodge with bed bugs, we will not be staying at...
