We recently had to travel to Seattle for my husband to have surgery. We stayed at this establishment for nine days, and could not wait to leave. Though we booked a handicap accessible room due to my husband's condition, they ended up fibbing us a regular room in the fourth floor.
Immediately we noticed that the entire floor smelled like smoke and dirty bodies. However our room was ok and for the price we were willing to put up with it.
After our toilet broke we were told there was no maintenance workers over the weekend. Our options were to move into a smoking room, use a toilet in the room down the hall, or temporarily relocate to another hotel. Due to my husband's conditions we refused all these options. Instead we were eventually moved to a first floor room.
The walls and floors were so thin you could hear everything going on around you .We had a barking dog on one side, a family with a screaming kid on the other, and the people above us literally stomped back and forth across the room from 4PM to 5AM every single day. I was literally dreaming about them playing vigorous games of Wii tennis because what else could keep such constant and loud thumping all night? I even tried sleeping with headphones on to drown out the noise but was unsuccessful.
The wifi was so slow I couldn't even run Google docs for work purposes. We had paid for faster internet, but it was still ridiculously slow. The woman at the desk explained it was having issues which they were trying to resolve. The next morning the man at the desk explained that they had the most horrible wifi ever, and that praying for the upgrade was a waste of money. Thankful as i was for the honesty, i was very disappointed to have been lied to the day before, and to have paid for something that couldn't be delivered within reasonable expectations.
The continental breakfast consisted of couple granola bars, mini muffins, instant oatmeal, and coffee. The muffins went fast and weren't restocked. One morning i was fling my coffee and grabbing a granola bar right before 9 when breakfast officially ends. Even with people in line to grab the meager offerings, the woman brushed past me as I filled my coffee cup, and snatched the basket items away to prevent me or anyone in one from grabbing anything after 9:01AM. It was rude and felt aggressive. We were all in line prior to the cut off, and it felt like she should have waited for the line to finish going through before clearing the items away. Or you know, she could have said excuse me instead of bowling me over.
After a few days the muffins disappeared. They were the best and favorite option for 90% of those who ate breakfast. When asked we were told that there was an issue with the suppliers, and that they had gone to the store to buy some, but the kind they serve were unavailable. Too bad the hotel wasn't located in a major metropolitan area where you could visit another store, or temporarily substitute the missing option with something else...
When trying to get change for the laundry room I was told I had to go get a smaller bill. I understood, and did so without complaining. Upon returning, the woman at the desk actually opened the door and realized she had more than enough change after all. I couldn't believe she hadn't checked before sending me away.
After our time in this hotel we left exhausted, not having been able to get a restful night sleep our entire stay. We were irritated beyond belief and will never stay...
Read moreThis place was terrible. First, it took about 40 min to check in at 10pm. There was only one guy in front of us and the lady who was checking him in was not explaining what she was doing (he was paying for the hotel in cash sketchy which is why I think it took longer than normal). Then we got our room. It was on the first floor which I was a little concerned about but it was fine.THE DOOR DIDNT SHUT ALL THE WAY!! It was very loose like anyone could just push it open so we kept the deadbolt on which also was very loose and bent. The room smelt terrible and still does! Like Indian food or something. The fridge was SO LOUD!!! It kept vibrating the shelves inside it so we had to take them out. There were hairs everywhere and I found some ants on the bathroom counter. Nothing was wiped down properly or to my standards of paying $100 for one night. The air conditioner didn't work and even though the website advertised this hotel as having wifi it did not reach the room we were located which was difficult because I had to use the Internet for school work. The bed is hard. The floors were sticky (yuck). No soap in the bathroom. The kitchen doesn't come with anything in it so you have to pay extra to use everything else. The breakfast was only coffee, oranges, apples, muffins, and oatmeal. No juice or milk (coming from a person who can't drink coffee was very frustrating). And none of the muffins were even fresh. They are all in plastic bags like they bought them from Costco down the street or something. Oh and the pool is outside. Which is weird to me because you hear all about the terrible weather in Seattle so why have an outdoor pool ?? Not pleased at all and am very frustrated with this place. Will never stay in an...
Read moreTo begin with, the spot they put the hotel on is quite conveniently located in the vicinity of two highways, business park and essential facilities such as grocery, pharmacy, fast food, barbers etc. nearby. It was taking me 5-10 minutes to get to one of my clients, which certainly is amazing along with traffic considerations. Now, to the dark side of the medal: Cleaning: my suite was subject to periodic cleaning only theoretically, as initially they forgot to include it to the routine (perhaps forgot to associate it with the fact that it had become rented). It took me placing two reminders to fix it. Then we had the breakout, which essentially cancelled all cleaning services as a precaution. In between the two events, I had to make several reminders at the reception to change my shower curtain, as it was stinky. What they did then was a handover of cleaned set, so I had to replace it myself. No biggie, I used to fix my own house. Indoor smoking: the hotel claims to be a smoke-free place, but apparently it was not so much: someone was smoking pot in my neighborhood, so the choking smell was all over my place, both in the bathroom and bedroom. Numerous calls over days were made to the reception, the last one had been replied with “enjoy it”. Probably it was the only way to express their sense of humor? Their wake-up call service was never able to make it as required. Even more, they overcame themselves, enabling non-requested ones. Very strange experience. Wrapping up, I would not recommend this place for consideration of staying there for more than one night, unless you are tired enough to have fun handling multiple...
