We travel a lot for sports and came across this Fairfield Inn when we were in NJ. This is by far the nicest Fairfield Inn we have ever stayed at. This staff was friendly and went out of their way to go the extra mile. They offer happy hour with food and drink in evenings and the breakfast has a variety of eggs and meats. The hotel is clean and has all the amenities you could want except for a pool. The lobby is open and spacious with plenty of seating. I cannot day enough about this hotel and the customer service.

Not good. Previous person's hair all over. Room smelled of mildew and mold. Paint peeling, towel dirty. Noisy air conditioner and fan. Enormous crawling bug, see photo. Breakfast was a literal Jimmy Dean sandwich in a paper wrapper that was like eating glue.

Very comfortable accommodation with big rooms. Limited options with breakfast. There are very few places around at walking distance, heck there are no sidewalks in Bridgewater.

On arrival, we were greeted by a friendly staff member. He offered a choice of rooms and asked which floor we wanted to be on, and then he asked if we wanted housekeeping service during our stay, which was three nights. Because it was Christmas weekend, we told him we would go without unless we needed more coffee for our room. He advised us they no longer provided in-room coffee but it was available in the lobby 24/7 and was brewed fresh every hour. ||||Our room (104) was clean and welcoming, the bed was very comfortable, and a refrigerator and microwave were there and in good condition. It was a little cooler in there than we like, so we turned the thermostat up a couple of degrees. From that moment on, every time the heat came on it sounded like a jet plane taking off, and when it turned off it sounded like a jet landing. Not conducive to a good night’s sleep.||||In the morning we went to use the shower, and we couldn’t get hot water. Tried to call the desk and got no answer. Had to get dressed to go to the desk, where the girl told me it sometimes shut itself off when the weather was cold, but she would turn it back on and we’d have hot water in 5 or 10 minutes. I got the last of the coffee from the carafe in the lobby, took it back to the room, and it was obviously not brewed during the past several hours, probably left over from yesterday. While waiting for hot water, went on my tablet and used the free Wi-Fi, which was good.||||After enjoying a hot shower, I tried shaving, but the mirror was all fogged up, and there was no exhaust fan. After it cleared, still couldn’t see much because of the poor lighting. Those strips of light down the sides of the mirror are totally inadequate. Nice mood lighting, but not good for seeing your up close.||||The free breakfast was good if you didn’t eat the eggs, which were supposedly scrambled, but apparently they were made from rubber, as I couldn’t even cut them with a knife. The waffles and muffins were good, and so was the yogurt.||||When we returned to the room for night two of listening to the jet planes, we had no Wi-Fi. Oh well, it was cold and windy, so maybe the cable was down. From then on, the was no Wi-Fi whatsoever. ||||At checkout, we were told their system was down, so they would have to email our receipt.||||We will not be returning to this hotel , even though the location is ideal for us when visiting family. We’ll pay a little more and drive a little farther, but hopefully we’ll have a more pleasant stay somewhere else.||||I must add that the weather was terrible, with frigid temperatures and high winds, so a few of the difficulties could have been caused by that and not to be blamed on the hotel...

We arrived about 11pm on July 20, 2023, the clerk was no where to be found. we called, wondered around the lobby and down a hallway and a guy in a gray hoody and well worn black sweat pants wonders out of the kitchen area. He checks us in to Room 420, We've been driving for 7 hours and we were exhausted. There's a musty smell in the room but we are tired and go right to sleep. Then the truck and car and motorcycle noise in the room. The hotel sits just off Route 202, a major highway and the sound level for a hotel is high. ||At 5:24 am, I;m woken up by a tap, tap, tap sound like water dripping. Its raining out and there's a leak in the roof. I look at the ceiling and there a 2-3 foot brown spot that looks like someone tried to patch the spot several times with joint compound. The sound is annoying and I cant sleep. I go down to the front desk, again, no clerk, look around for him and find him again in the kitchen, looked like I woke him up. I explain what's going on and he doesn't seem to care. He pulls his phone out and is texting someone. He tells me he is texting the manager.||I go back to the elevator and step in and it sinks a small amount and then there's a sudden movement and a rather unusual sound came from the hydraulic compressor in the adjacent closet. When the compressor came on to life the elevator to my floor, I noticed a high pitched bearing sound or whine. I went back to down to the clerk at the desk and told him about that. He apologized and continued texting, saying he was letting the manager know.||When I returned to the room, the dripping noise was still there, I put Bose Headphones on so I could get back to sleep.||When we got up around 6:45, them musty smell was much worse and we were concerned about black mold. I went down for coffee and the same clerk was still there. I let him know about the smell and the possibility of Black Mold. He told me the manager would be here about 8-8:30 to speak with me. ||I came back down at 8:45 to get the luggage care, no manager and a new clerk. I asked him if the manager was here, he said no, but may be in soon. He didn't know about our issues, like maybe they were going to rent the same room out again. Room 420. We left at 9, and I asked the manager to call me. He has not called 2 days later as I write this review. If he does, I'll update here. ||||On the good side, the bathroom was clean and looked like it had a new tile shower.||||Tomorrow, I'm calling both the Sommerset County health department and building inspector for the mold and elevator issues.||||Breakfast was slim, nothing worth having.||||We will never...

After driving a long trip we were happy that our room was clean and comfortable. We came to NJ to visit a college friend now residing in a nursing home. We were unfamiliar with the area and were glad the hotel was safe and clean. You do have to drive to find a restaurant and were glad to see that the hotel offered "hot breakfast" on their website.|When we went down to breakfast all that was available was cereal and some fruit. I asked the attendant why there was nothing in their hot containers. She apologized and went back to get something. She brought back 2 prepacked items.. a quiche of some sort and frozen pancakes .These were still cold and not edible. We left and decided to drive to McDonalds on the way to the nursing home after we checked out. When we went to check out the clerk was outside talking to some people and we had to wait. |After making our visit to the nursing home we started on our long trek back to WV.|We discovered we had left our jackets in the closet. I called back and notified them. They said they could mail them to us, but it being a Friday would have to wait until Monday. They would call to get our credit card information.|And now it begins...|No call from manager on Monday. I called back and spoke to a desk clerk who said she would have to check with manager. She finally located him and he said yes he had the jackets and would mail them on Tuesday. I gave her my credit card information and asked that they be mailed USPS.|We waited a week..... Called back... Jackets had not been mailed yet! I told them I had given my credit information in good faith. They said they would be mailed.|I then called Marriott customer service and spoke with an agent. He took my complaint, put me on hold, said was contacting the hotel. I asked for a tracking number at this time. He said I would get an email detailing when I would be getting jackets and a tracking number. |4 days later no email..|I am disappointed in Marriott. I expected better service from the top brand in the US.|If they didn't have the jackets or a housekeeper had kept them then we just needed to be told up front.|Don't stay here. We will go back to staying at a Choice...
