My friend and I booked a room here for a night because it was cheap...well, you get what you pay for. We pulled into the parking lot and noticed that there were damaged blinds in a couple of the rooms in the front building, there were weeds growing up through the parking lot and around the sign...it looked like a pretty crappy place, but we gave it a shot. Checked in (the office was part of someone's house with thick bulletproof glass separating you from the clerk) and the owner directed me to one of the rooms in the rear building. My friend was terrified and said we should just camp in the car. We passed a bunch of broken down junk vehicles on the way to the rear building. We climbed rusted, rickety stairs to get to the second level and noticed that the "flooring" of the second level walkway was tar paper. Got to our room and when we walked in...the smell was horrific. It was a mixture of stale cigarettes, grandma and 1974. We opened the windows to try to air the place out, but one of the windows was missing a screen. The air conditioning unit was a 1960s era model. We were shocked that it even worked. The draperies were old, ugly and musty. The carpet and bedding, more of the same. The bathroom had a new sink and vanity which was oddly out of place. The towels were an assortment like you might find at your grandma's house...not the typical white towels, but random colors and patterns, and they were all old and threadbare.||We went to the store and bought a bottle of Febreze, scented candles as well as towels and washcloths. Our camping gear was in my car so decided to sleep in our sleeping bags on the beds. I wore flip flops to shower. ||Even after spraying everything in the room with Febreze multiple times and burning scented candles until we went to sleep, the smell was still there. The icing on the cake was leaving in the morning and seeing an empty box of condoms on the ground next to my car.||I like to give small family owned places a chance...I've stayed at many independent motels that are nice and clean. I'm not expecting egyptian cotton bedding, microwaves, marble sinks and room service, but I do expect a place with usable towels, functioning windows and one that doesn't smell like it's been closed since the 70s. We both woke up with scratchy throats and irritated eyes. In all fairness, the Febreze could be partly to blame for that, but only partly. ||When we're back down in NJ next year, we will be paying the extra money and staying...
Read moreWe chose this hotel because we needed place to stay at for the night. EVERY other hotel in the area was booked. As soon as we walked in, the smell of the place was so rank. I couldn't bare to even look at the bedding because the sheets looked like they were ancient and they just didn't look clean. My great grandmother probably stayed there when she was young. That's how old and unfurnished the place was. It's definitely not kept up to date! The shower....well the water was cold, there was only one towel to dry yourself off with. As soon as I pulled the curtain back, there were huge bugs. I killed them but as soon as I went to move the shower head, there were a few more! At that point, I had to get out of there! I grabbed my belongings, and left. I walked over to the front desk, the hotel host offered me another room but I was too skeeved out at that point. She told me to come back to get my refund. Well...when I called the next morning, her words "I can only offer you 20 dollars since I offered you another room" after she PROMISED me my FULL REFUND! this place is a beat, run down motel. It's not worth the 100...
Read moreBooked my room through orbitz. Was looking for an inexpensive motel to stay at for 1 night as I was going to a bday party in the area. I read the reviews on this place and wasn't expecting very good things. However, Upon entering the room I found it to be pleasantly clean and roomy. No odor at all like the previous review mentioned it had. The place was just fine for the economy price of $49 that I paid. The room even had 2 sinks and a table with a couple chairs inside. The only problem I encountered was I couldn't change the tv channel! I tried with both the remote and manually on the tv and it wouldn't change. At least it was stuck on the history channel which wasn't all that bad. The beds were comfortable with nice blankets. Overall I thought the room was just fine and I...
