Express Mart — Local services in Branchburg Township

The Express Mart and Deli on Route 202 South in Branchburg is right around the corner from me, so I have patronized it often over the years.

This place is truly a great convenience store and the owner really cares about his store’s image and the overall customer experience. First and foremost, it’s clean. Additionally, it’s well laid out for quick in-and-out access. They offer Law coffee, which I think is excellent and is much cheaper than what the local ‘name’ coffee shop offers. They also offer very reasonably prices on buns, rolls, bagels (all conveniently located by the coffee) and hot sandwiches (e.g., variations of the NJ classic pork roll on a roll). All of these are grab ‘n go – again, very convenient! I also recently ordered lunch sandwiches – a turkey and a roast beef, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a roll – and they were excellent: fresh Thurman meats, very thick, fresh veggies and rolls – and also at a very reasonable price! I will definitely buy my lunch from them again.

Finally, from purely a convenience perspective, they stock all the basics and ice, so if you ever need something in pinch, you can go there and not drive to ShopRite or Wegmans, deal with parking and wait in their checkout lines – again, at very fair prices!

Obviously I am happy to have this convenience store near me and truly appreciate the owner for what he has done/is doing...

Start advertising that you close at 8:30 pm. It is a MASSIVE inconvenience for people who visit your store before 9pm. Absolute worst. Don't bother attempting to go if it's 8:30pm.

Make sure that all products scan. They have a habit of inputting a price when things won't scan. Are you sure that price is correct??

And please, clarify how diversity matters when your employee's close earlier than what it...

This is a great place. I would give it five stars but my only complaint is that they post that they are open until 9:00 and they lock their doors at 8:40 p.m. I have gone out of my way to get there several times before close and the lights were on, OPEN sign was lit, but the door was locked. If you are going to post that you are open until 9:00, please stay open until 9:00 otherwise...
