If it were possible to give no stars, I would. The room, and bathroom were clean, the motel was quiet, and there was a mini-fridge, and microwave in the room. Smoking was also allowed. That is the extent of the positives of this motel. At the time of writing this review, my stay was the previous night, (Mothers Day Night 2020) My husband arranged a Mothers Day grill out for both his mother and myself, after the grill out my last present was that we would be kid-free for the night. His parents were staying the night to spend time with their grandchildren after the long COVID-19 shelter-in-place order prevented their regular visits. We live in Bremen and wanted to stay close so chose the motel 6 because of that reason. It was obvious this room had been remodeled sometime in the recent past. There is hardwood intimation laminate on the floor instead of the usual carpet, and quite honestly the room just smelled clean not old and stuffy. However the beds are hard as rocks which some may appreciate so that is certainly not a reason to rate only 1 star. Even combined with the fact that their cable was unavailable most of the night would not rate one star. However trying to blame damages we didn't cause does rate 1 star. Check out is 11 A.M., pretty standard. We woke up at 11 but since it was just my husband and I didn't have much just our dirty clothes from the night before. We walked out of the room at 11:08 just as housekeeping was about to come in. Housekeeping walked in to do his job we put out things in our vehicle. The housekeeper takes our room key and we leave. We come home and the kids are all over us telling us of their sleepover with mamaw, and papaw, when my phone rang. It's Cindy from motel 6 informing me that they are going to charge my credit card $500.00 for damages. That the bed had been broken. Cindy said she had pictures and I told her "great I can't wait to see them". We go back to the motel where sure enough Cindy the check-in desk person showed me pictures of a bed where the press-board mattress platform had been broken on the corner of the bed. That's all there was in the pictures. Just two pictures of a bed corner where it looked like someone may have sat or stepped on it and being particle board of course it broke. There was no room number showing in the pictures to even confirm it had been our room, nor was the mattress platform exposed on either bed in our room. Furthermore I asked if I could have a copy of those pictures which was declined as Cindy said it was her personal phone. Secondly I asked if we could go back to the room and take our own pictures and that request was also denied as Cindy stated the room was already cleaned and sanitized for another guest and we would have to rent the room again. Wait, what? My husband and I supposedly did $500.00 worth of damage to a bed which is the cornerstone of a motel room, but the room was already cleaned and sanitized for another guest? When I said no we will not rent the room again nor will we ever use motel 6 again, Cindy simply exclaimed: " Well we called the police and there is a report." Wait, what? It's not even noon yet at this time. A Carroll County sheriff had gotten there, made a report, and left before I got back? Police simply do not respond that fast to a non-emergent call, let alone make it in less than ten minutes even if they were running with their lights and sirens. The Carroll County sheriff's office is over 15 miles away. Y'all I live on Gordon RD, in Bremen. It's 7 minutes from motel 6. There is no way a sheriff got there, made a report, and left before I returned. I do not know what's up with this motel 6. I have used them before with no problems, but not again. I would also like to say that my husband and I DO NOT destroy other's property for any reason and we have a long clean rental history to prove it. You can going directly in and book your room but you will not get the discounts that are available online as 5% Off Regular Room or 10% off AARP or the best 30% Off Estended stays... Just want to seem a lot much but they're simply cheating the system and not letting motel. 6. Know when they're actually booking room so they don't have to pay the corporation so much. So basically they're getting away with using a name, brand name and not paying their dues. So without these discounts you are highly paying too much for the room for your stay. I will tell you this. There's two hotels in Carrollton that are basically doing the same thing. Also, there's the Wyndham that super 8 and there is Econo Lodge/ rodeway Inn choice Hotels this pulling the same thing keeping their establishment like it's blocked out all year long like they are completely full unless you show up on site. I guarantee you these are connected and I hope they all go down because it's wrong because they're not paying their dues and on top of that they expect you to be good guests and treat them with the respect that They act like they deserve, They deserve no respect their property...
Read moreI just needed a place to crash for the night as I was passing through. The motel was under construction. I understood things may or may not be up to par during this renovation. That was the least of it! There was a barely workable lock on the door, a large hole in the wall over the bed, lamps that did not work, curtains missing clips, carpeting that hadn't been cleaned for some time. On the positive side the TV worked and i was given a towel and bar of soap. The real problem came an hour and a half before check out the next morning. Housekeeping banging on the door because they wanted to clean the room. I explained I would be out by 11 and he said that was ok. Then came back again at 10:15 wanting to clean the room. Then came back again at 10:45, but this time didn't ask...just pushed pass me into the room and said "Don't worry. I am your friend." He is not. I don't appreciate being pushed in a room I paid for and made to feel I had to leave early just because he wanted to clean the room early...in a room that looked like it hadn't be cleaned in awhile.
