Keep a close eye on the way the ladies here write up your check. Been here several times and each time I've seen the way they slide numbers in to make extra cash. For example today the waitress charged us for 3 full meals and then she charged for each individual side (so like an All Star Breakfast would come with grits or hash brown, eggs, etc.) She charged us for an order of eggs, a plate of bacon , a side of grits, and then on top of that the full price of the meal itself. Even though all we ordered were the 2 All Stars and a waffle with bacon, no special sides. So 3 plates came out to almost 50 dollars. And when we tried to tell her it was wrong she instantly became hostile. That's when we realized what kinda game they were playing. Not saying it's all the waitresses, but there are a select few that are swindlers. We paid and even tipped but all in all that one waitress walked away with an almost 15-25 dollar tip when you add up the amount she swindled in the process. Hopefully management reviews the receipts and catches the people doing it because it's a surefire way to lose loyalty...
Read moreFirst I would like to say how amazing Nevia was, our baby girl had puked unexpectedly (as little ones do), and she saved the the day, helped me clean it all up and was super sweet and understanding about it. I want to make a point though, Nevia was not actually our initial server, there was another lady who very rudely, very loudly, walked over to the other employees and said “table 3 is being sick, I can’t do it” and walked around with her shirt over her face, leading to everyone watching us. She had made such a spectacle over a baby girl being sick. I was shocked at her behaviour. I’m so glad Nevia was there to save our experience at this waffle house that unfortunately another employee tainted for us.
I want to add, I really wanted to leave Nevia a nice tip for being so amazing, but another employee told me that she isn’t allowed to take tips as she’s a training manager. I will say, I feel she will be an amazing manager! She’s seemed so lovely, so patient, understanding and hard working. If anything I feel she deserves a raise. Amazing! Thank you Neviah,...
Read moreThis restaurant is almost ALWAYS busy. A favorite of both travellers and locals alike. After the game, after the prom, after the show, late night cravings, it's all good here. Whether you're a long time regular, or a first timer, everyone is treated like family. And if you don't see what you want on the menu, don't be afraid to ask. The staff are as helpful as they are friendly. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. (Except certain holidays, maybe...) Go online and join their Regulars Club and get notifications and coupons e-mailed to you. It's free to join! My personal favorite is ordering a BLT, hold the tomato, and add a fried egg (over hard, please), with mayo, on toast. I know technically that would make it a BLE, so sue me. My other favorite is a big bowl of Bert's Chili with cheese and a side Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Wash all that down with some of Alice's Sweet Iced Tea, or a Fountain Coke with cherry syrup added. Bottom line...? If you leave hungry, it's your...
