For years I was such a big CB food fan. I'm still a fan of breakfast, and some of the store items, and CB's generosity in most of them allowing RVs to stay overnight (I still ALWAYS 'pay my way' by buying something in the store or ordering take out breakfast) - yet the non-breakfast food and pick up service is very hit and miss. I always order take out rather than sit inside. My order is RARELY EVER close to ready when I'm told it will be, so there's the waiting game Yet most of all it's the change in food quality and quantity over the years. I ate their fried shrimp yesterday, loved it for years and had stopped. Yesterday's take out order showed me it had only gotten worse - bordered on what I consider a 'popcorn shirmp' entree. I remember the old days when CB shrimp was delicious, plump and regular sized shrimp. I took a photo, but the lighting and closeness of the photo was not my best effort to show this! ALSO, I ordered an ADDITIONAL PRICE side of 'Chicken & Dumping soup', while my grandson simply ordered a side of dumplings. I wish I'd taken a photo of both. His round, clear covered container looked much like the photos. Lots of dumplings showing up top! A full cup! You couldn't see ANYTHING looking at MY soup container but juice. Not a single solid bit of anything. There were hardly any dumplings, and maybe a teaspoon of shredded chicken. Flavor was good, but ridiculous to have gotten it EVEN IF I had not paid extra. My grandson felt bad and gave me some of his dumplings. :-) I find it very sad that corporate greed has taken over almost all chain companies/restaurants when it comes to cutting food quality/quantity as prices for the same increase. I will continue to get breakfast, and buy some things in the store itself, yet I'm done with the hit and miss of the rest. Sorry to...
Read moreMy husband, my son, and myself visited Sunday April 10, 2022. We were told there was a 25 minute wait. I put our name on the wait list and we waited outside until we were called. We were seated within the 25 minutes they had told us. The waitress came by and took our orders fairly quickly (drink and food at the same time) and left our table. Things went downhill from there. After over 45 minutes, a different waitress brought out our food. Our orders were missing several items. We asked for the missing items, and eventually after multiple trips back and forth to the kitchen, got most of them. Our waitress walked by our table several times, but never stopped to check on us. Finally she came to bring us our ticket and discuss a tip. I told her that we needed something to drink, that we were choking on our food. She came back and refilled one cup out of three and walked away. My husband and son had to share a glass of tea for the remainder of their meals. She never came back. We had one napkin on our table and had to share it between the three of us. The eggs were extremely overcooked and dry. The country ham however, was under cooked. We were again asked for a tip when we went to check out. We understand that short staffing is an issue, and tried to be understanding. Cracker Barrel used to be one of our favorite after church places to eat. Hopefully things will be better soon. Not sure when we...
Read moreHere again. Thursday night May 24th.
Been sitting here for about an hour now. Took 30 minutes for the staff to take our order and get our drinks. It has been more than 30 minutes since our order was taken and we still have NO food. A lot of apologies, but no food.
Food finally arrived. My order of course was all jacked up and my wife's order was missing a side. My sons hamburger is a damn hockey puck and my friend didn't get any of the sides he actually asked for!
WTH IS GOING ON WITH THIS PLACE?
This was a 2 star review for our first visit here. Went there about a week ago. Wasn't crowded at all but service was extremely slow. Our server was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. We waited an extremely long time for our food and when it was finally ready, our server stopped to talk with other guest for a few minutes while holding our food on her tray.
Most of the food was bland and lacked any kind of seasoning whatsoever. Sausage gravy was thick and had been sitting long enough to coagulate. Kitchen clearly put a spoon of warm gravy on top of the gravy in the bowls.
Server told me 4 times that she was going to go get me a refill of sweet tea, only to finally come back with it when I had finished what food I could actually eat.
This is one of the few businesses in the area that does not offer a military discount.
I doubt we will return to this...
