Overall it was very nice and I enjoyed my stay. Whether I'd recommend, however, would depend on your rate and the other available options, as Brian Head has a lot of possibilities.
Location: couldn't be better - surrounded by mountains, gorgeous trails and of course the ski resort. Right across the street from the general store that sells groceries, gifts, etc. Also ATV rental across the street. Many rooms have amazing views.
Room: I had a 2 queen bed room and thought it was a lovely set-up. The room is a very good size. Fire place, lots of drawers and storage space. A large bathroom with huge soaking/jacuzzi tub. Fridge with decent size freezer, microwave, basic kitchen utensils. The room was very clean and the sheets and pillows were nice. I loved that they provided lots of extra towels, towels specific for the pool, and lots of extra toliet paper NEGATIVES - the bed is VERY firm. I actually like firm beds so I didn't mind, but it was a bit firm to me which says something. If you don't like firm beds you might be miserable. Also no blackout curtains! Just wooden shutters and they let a decent amount of light in, so sleeping in could be an issue. Lastly, the cleaning service is only once a week and you have to stay at least 4 night.
AMENITIES Because of COCID, I was there when the restaurant, gift shop, pool and jacuzzi, and the spa, were all closed. I like that there is a laundry room in every building. I love the small park a few steps away from the building. It has a grassy area, fire pit with chairs, playground, picnic area, and basketball hoop. There is both outdoor and indoor parking that is convenient.
STAFF -I read some concerning reviews about this, but maybe it just depends how busy they are. I didn't have any issues.
NOISE I think this depends a lot on luck - your particular room and when you stay. I didn't hear anything above, but my neighbors were playing music and I could hear the, which was frustrating.
SOME BAD STUFF - I know that lots of places do this now, but the "resort fee" is just outrageous and dishonest. It is worse here than other places. Why? Because if you book through the hotel website, you pay the resort fee twice! It lists resort fee in your prepaid cost, and then when you get to the hotel and check in they charge you again!!! $17 a day! Some states have made this illegal. It seems obvious that whatever type of fees a hotel has should be added to the nightly cost. It is a bait and switch to get people to think the price is low to get them to book, and then hit them with the fees. Sure it might say that there is a fee somewhere in the fine print, but we all know it is misleading. For this reason, I would really suggest looking at airbnb first. There are a lot of great rentals around, and even some at this resort but owned privately. Airbnb prices are final, and they don't add resort fees and security deposits...
Read moreWhere to begin?! This was our 3rd visit to Brian Head during the summer time. Our first visit, we stayed at Cedar Breaks Lodge in 2016 and nothing was very memorable about it besides that we were so hot because there wasn’t any AC.
The second time we visited, we chose to stay somewhere else.
We just got back from our 3rd visit to Brian Head, where we decided to give Cedar Breaks Lodge another try. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. We walked into a very clean room and I could tell there had been updates made to the carpet, furniture, etc. since our last visit to CBL. The layout was perfect for our family of 5. We were able to buy groceries and comfortably cook because we had all the dishes and cooking appliances we needed. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. I do wish the pool could’ve been slightly heated because it prevented us from being able to swim as a family. The pool was way too cold for our toddler, but the hot tub was way too hot, so we had to swim in shifts. But, that wasn’t a huge setback. My kids also loved the playground and we enjoyed the beautiful weather while watching them play.
The thing that stood out to me the most this trip was the amazing customer service. To me, most things can be fixed, but if the customer service is lacking, it can ruin a trip. From the friendly manager, Karen, to the personable front desk attendant, Brittze, to the super attentive and kind maintenance man, “T”, we had excellent customer service. I haven’t stayed at a hotel in a long time where I actually remember the staff’s name because they stood out to me so much. They spent time talking to us, making sure our stay was going well, addressed any concerns and even helped us talk through a plan of trying to come back during Spring Break.
We will definitely be coming back! We had such a memorable trip and the staff were awesome! Great job, guys! You’re the reason we want to come back!
We even forgot a pacifier of all things and they were happy to ship it back to us.
We cannot wait for our next trip to Cedar Breaks...
Read moreGoing through a hell experience! Here is my email to the GM. It’s now 12:15PM and still no lift tickets and sitting here wasting my vacation.
Hello Michael, I am having the worst experience ever with your hotel. I originally started online when I came accords the ski, stay, and dine with us package. I tried to book it and the server timed out so I called on the phone to make the reservation and they said they couldn’t book it on the phone and seemed confused. They said to go to the resort and book it so I headed up to Cedar Breaks lodge at Brian Head. I arrived at 12:30 and the night auditor was working. He said he could not book it and I needed to go online. I tied to go online and book it and since it was 12:30AM, it would not let me Book the 11th, because it was now the 12th. The night auditor said to book the room and come back in the morning to sort it out. I showed up this morning and the front desk gave me the reservations number again to fix the problem. I called them and they said they couldn’t help again. So I’m back at the front desk and the manager is trying to help. She pulled up the website and booked my ski package and got a confirmation.

After booking it, she said she doesn’t have any ski tickets so she needs to find out how to get them. This all started at 10AM. She also said she would try to refund my room and switch me to the package she just helped me book online.
Needless to say, this has been a complete disaster where nobody seems to know what is going on with the packages you advertise on your website. I drove 4 hours to come here and now have 2 reservations, 1 with the package, and no ski lift tickets. It’s 11:53, so I am beyond frustrated. I just want to go snowboarding and that’s not even possible right now. I don’t know when this will be resolved. This is the worst experience I have had at a hotel. I don’t understand how you can sell packages and your staff doesn’t know about them or have the ability to...
