Stay elsewhere and save yourself the headache. I would give negative stars if it were an option. They charge you $33 per night to reserve a parking space (they created three parking spots in the lot behind the building with paint on the ground) and they want you to leave your car keys in an unsecured box in the lobby "in case they need to move your vehicle". They don't mention the park about the keys until you're there checking in. We reserved our parking space well in advance and when they asked for our keys I told them I wasn't comfortable leaving them out for anyone to have access to. The woman working didn't have an issue with it. Two days into our stay we returned back to the room around midnight and all three parking spots were taken up. Since the front desk is only staffed 9a-10p we had to find an emergency number to contact. The girl that answered the phone said she would come take a look. After almost an hour of us sitting in our car waiting for an answer we were finally told that they would handle it in the morning and that we should park on the street and they would pay for our parking ticket. Where the girl told us to park on the street was literally under a sign that said "tow zone". We were left to fend for ourselves after midnight in a new to us city not having any idea where to put our car. The next morning we were told that if we wanted our parking spot back we had to give them our car keys. The girl working the desk was clueless and tried to have this puff out of chest attitude. We asked for a manager to contact us and all the girl would say was, "I'll pass along your concerns". We asked multiple times and we're never allowed to speak to management. After this huge ordeal no apologies, no compensation for the huge inconvenience, nothing.
For a B&B their pathetic excuse for a breakfast is muffins, croissants & old oatmeal packets. You have no control over the temperature of your room, the heat blasted all night on the 4th floor and it was so hot. They buy the cheapest towels & toilet paper possible. The shower is...

We called several times, were put on hold, told they would call us back as they could not take the reservation and make the arrangements wherever they were. They did not call back and we had to call several times, taking all day to get this finished. Upon entering the building at check-in, there was a strong smell of marijuana throughout the lobby and second floor. Staff seemed unaware and unbothered by this. Also, two mattresses standing up in the check-in area next to the small breakfast area and food. Not the greatest site to see when checking in. We had asked for some extra pillows when making the reservation, but they were not in the room. We asked the staff for the extra pillow upon check-in and they could not find any. We were also short one set of towels for the room which they had to bring. The bed was comfortable, but be aware with an old structure, you will hear noises from the hallway through the door, and guests walking on the floor above your room. Location was great, with two T-stops only minutes away. A small grocery store just down the street, and a very quaint setting on a tree-lined street. Bed was comfortable, but the room needed a very good cleaning, with layers of dust and dirt on many surfaces such as blinds and bathroom mirror. The breakfast that is provided is very sparse. Muffins one day, bananas another day, dry cereals, granola bars. No cream for the coffee, and coffee maker was out of water despite staff sitting several feet from the coffee maker. Marijuana smell continued strongly in the morning of second day. Again, asked the staff to look into this since the building is non-smoking and we were very bothered by the smell. The attendant simply said" I will bring this to the management's attention ", but nothing was done during our stay. Although the location was good, we would not stay in the pot palace again, since this in a non-smoking building, cleanliness issues and...
Read moreWhen booking online, we were deciding between a room with one full size bed or a room with two beds. Since it was just my boyfriend and I, we arbitrarily selected the single bed as they were essentially identical in price. The two-bed room might've been $10 or so more. We assumed the two options would be roughly the same size given the lack of price difference.
The check-in was the slowest check in of my life. The first attendant was unnecessarily painstaking with the process, only to hand it off to another guy, who was just as slow moving and frankly seemed like it was his first day on the job with poor training. When we finally were shown to our room, I thought the guy would never leave, pointing us to obvious things in slow-mo. He was not exactly the charming inn host I would have hoped for.
As for the room, our initial assumption was dead wrong. It was TINY, dark, and shaped like a narrow shoebox. It was actually hot in Boston during our stay, and despite the central A/C AND window unit cranked all the way up, our room was an oven. Finally, the bathroom was not attached. You have to walk back and forth across the public hallway, and in spite of the sign that says "for room 9 only", someone walked in on me, even though I locked the door that apparently doesn't even lock. Which brings me to my main point, I don't think this "room" was ever meant to be a room.
Fortunately, for our second night, we were able to move to the room next door, which was much, much larger, appropriately shaped and furnished, and had actual ventilation....and cost the same?? I think our initial room was some kind of overflow room otherwise it makes absolutely zero sense that it's priced the same as the actually comfortable ones. While this room was satisfactory, the light in the bathroom was flickering rapidly, incessantly, and uncontrollably. This is just plain unacceptable.
As for the pros, the location is a plus. There is a green line stop right in front. And it's in the beautiful, quaint neighborhood...
