This hotel is on the border between Brookline to the south and Brighton to the north, barely a stone's throw from Cleveland Circle, in the westernmost part of Boston (I think). Not being from Boston, I learned that Brookline is a suburb and Brighton part of Boston city proper. Much may be said about Cleveland Circle but as far as I can tell it's simply a large intersection. There's really not much to the place if you're thinking urban life. There's a confluence of subway lines leading to the more central parts of Boston, adding to its allure for students and others wishing to stay or live in the area. The hotel is a 2-3 minute run from the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, a 1.5 mile loop I ran every morning I stayed at the hotel. The hotel is a rectangle bordering train tracks on one long side and a short street on the other long side. If you're fortunate to be assigned a room facing the short street (more like an expansive alley), you will not complain about noise (which I gather from reading reviews is more common in those rooms facing the railroad tracks). Think odd numbered rooms if you want quiet. The shorter ends of the rectangular configuration of the hotel face either Chestnut Hill Avenue or the parking lot and entry point to the hotel. The hotel has a stylish modern design and the rooms are sleek with excellent A/C. Lighting is dim but acceptable. The bathroom has an opaque glass door, which might disturb other sleeping members of your family should you need to use it in the middle of the night. There's a paucity of drawer space to store any packed items. But, that's the modern look these days best as I can tell, like it or not. The lobby is relaxing and comfortable. The dining area for breakfast offered a buffet style meal, ($18 I believe) which we did not partake in but looked delightful when we walked through. Staff was great. Even the parking valet were very helpful. But, the parking fee is ridiculous ($40). There's no overnight street parking in the immediate area so good luck going out on your own. All in all a very nice stay and very nice hotel. This is the place to stay in the Cleveland Circle area and if you want a sweet, nice place a bit off the beaten path but with easy access to central Boston, this hotel would make a great choice. Just add $40 per night to your stay to cover the cost...
Read moreIf I could give this hotel 0 stars I would ! This establishment is very unprofessional and unhygienic for the price point . I found reddish /brown splatter stains on my mattress cover which sent my OCD through the roof . I immediately went to check out after I seen this and wanted a full refund. I explained what I seen and also had photo proof. They didn’t want to give me a refund they wanted to give me credit to Half of a day stay. Which I would not want to stay here again so I don’t know why this is an option. I was given the run around when I asked for the supervisors information to speak with them directly all of a sudden “they didn’t have any contact info for the head person” . Which I find not truthful. I had to pull teeth and demand information for the supervisors contact info. hopefully it’s the correct information because he just scribbled a name on a sticky note . They told me I would only get a full refund if they seen fit. I’m emotional at this point and worked up and very anxious my experience was terrible!!! they also stated to me that they have to see a specific type of problem to give me back the money I paid ?!?!? How does this make sense.. . I also asked what scenario would have been needed in order to get a full refund, they told me they couldn’t disclose that with me ……I shouldn’t have to argue with an “assistant manager” for the problem to be solved when all I wanted to do was get my refund. I address the severity of my anxiety and what the dirty room did to me emotionally , I was brushed off and was told that they would need to have me escorted off the premises by the police. That is no way to treat a customer after you guys failed to offer the proper sanitation that every hotel should have. SAM HAYES is very unprofessional and a liar who needs to be properly trained in assisting situations like this without being hostile and uncooperative and ignorant. He was very in consistent in the things he was saying , he was talking in circles and was stating “ he’s trying to help me out “ I’m very displeased with my service here and I’m still waiting to get...
Read moreDO NOT TRAVEL ALONE!!!!! Terrible security. Two men were fixing the doors on my floor, they knocked on my door and I naively opened it. I was new to traveling alone for work so I didn't think this through, I know. They asked if they could fix the battery on my door lock. I hesitantly said okay, again, not thinking too much about it. Stupid mistake! Never again! One man came in, fixed the lock, said thanks and left. 10 minutes later my room phone rang. It was the guy who fixed the door asking if he could get my number?! alarmed that he knew my room number, I called front desk to tell them and make sure it was actually maintenance. They said yes it was, and i suggested they don't do maintenance on rooms with guests or at the very least let us know ahead of time. They moved my room...across the hall. The manager told me it was weird bc you can't make calls from room to room without going through the front desk, so now I'm thinking someone from front desk helped this guy call me. They tell me they will look into it. no update. next morning, i go talk to this manager, hes playing DUMB like he has no clue. So now, theres a security breach, no? can someone hack your phones? My job got involved and tried to get me to move hotels. I put in corporate complaint, and asked for the manager's supervisor name and contact. She was no help either. WEEKS went by without any clear answers. How hard is it to pull phone records to one room where no other calls were made or received? They confirmed this man did call, and he got through SOMEHOW with mystery magic no one can solve. They told me he was banned from the hotel, he was a 3rd party hired to fix the doors. I had to ask for any compensation to make it right (which i absolutely hate to do) Terrifying experience. eventually they just stopped answering my emails when they still had no updates on how they planned to change security. Anyways, someone's covering up for someone. do not travel here alone. I bought a door stop alarm and bolt lock after this experience for use on...
