Rarely do I write reviews, but had a little bit of a mixed experience yesterday playing here. First off, the course is really beautiful and well maintained, it is challenging but the views and the golf portion was terrific. Staff was kind and helpful when we saw them, and the range setup and club pickup straight from the car is a nice touch.
The mixed part came with the extras that are included in the price with the food and drinks. Given we played on a Monday in February (though it was a holiday), I know the course wasn't crowded, but still the experience wasn't quite what we were expecting. From their website it says "Before your round choose from danishes, bagels, muffins, coffee and juice, or grab a hot homemade Cathead biscuit", granted we did have a tee time around lunch, but none of these items were out, just cold cut sandwiches that were a little lackluster and hot dogs that weren't ready yet, but would be ready after our tee time. Along with this, the first thing the staff said when we arrived was that they now had pizza as an option which was on its way and would be available by the time we hit the turn, which didn't turn out to be true. There was no pizza, and when we hit the turn, there were only a few hot dogs left (with really stale buns), the same sandwiches, and no one really around to ask about getting more of anything. The course was really not crowded, maybe 3 other groups all day while we were there, so it seemed like they set out 12 hot dogs in the morning and just never checked back in on anything in there. Overall just a little disappointing for the $100 that the round cost that part of the experience wasn't quite worth it.
The last issue was something I haven't really experienced on a course, especially a nicer course like this. On the 17th hole, there was a group of probably 12 people standing right off the green blasting music, standing watching our group while talking really loud with each other. They lingered around our group and the group behind us the entire time we played the hole, and it was really bizarre and distracting. I know it's hard to control people coming from elsewhere onto the course, but this was right next to the clubhouse, and it seems like a ranger or any staff could have easily seen or heard this group and gotten these folks off the course. We finished our round wanting to say something to the clubhouse about this around 4:40, and to our surprise, the clubhouse was locked and no staff was in sight. Fortunately someone did come back (they finally noticed the large group as they were leaving for the day) and let us in to use the restroom and grab a water for the road, but there were still other groups on the course behind us, so I am not sure why they had closed everything so early (before 5).
Overall it was still an enjoyable day of golf, and like I mentioned the course itself is beautiful and in great shape, but it just felt like we didn't get the full premium experience that we had paid for, so I was left more frustrated than I...

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had the absolute worst customer service experience at Lanier Legacy Golf Club, and it was nothing short of humiliating and infuriating.
On March 8th, I booked a 3:00 PM tee time for my wife and her sister. Due to heavy rain, I called the pro shop, and a kind and professional male staff member issued an 18-hole rain check, which I appreciated.
However, when I called today to use that rain check, I was met with the most unprofessional, rude, and outright hostile treatment from a staff member named Leah Stephenson (spelling may be incorrect). From the moment she picked up the phone, she was aggressive, dismissive, and condescending. She:
❌ Constantly interrupted me while I was speaking. ❌ Raised her voice at me for absolutely no reason. ❌ Refused to listen or assist me properly and instead transferred my call without helping. ❌ Treated me with an attitude that felt blatantly discriminatory.
It’s truly disgusting that a golf course with such a good reputation allows this kind of horrible customer service to take place. I couldn’t help but feel that I was treated this way because I am Asian and an international guest.
This was my first experience with this level of rudeness and discrimination since moving to Atlanta, and I am still in shock that a business like this allows such behavior to continue unchecked.
If Lanier Legacy Golf Club actually cares, ⚠️ Implement serious customer service training so this NEVER happens again. ⚠️ Ensure all guests—regardless of nationality—are treated with basic human decency.
I will make sure that everyone I know hears about this disgraceful experience. I will also be reporting this incident to management and any relevant authorities to ensure this club is held accountable for discriminatory and unprofessional practices.
Avoid this place if you expect even the bare minimum of respect. If you’re not a local, prepare to be treated as if you...
Read morewith my disappointment regarding an unacceptable customer service experience at Lanier Legacy Golf Club. The incident I encountered today was deeply distressing and left me feeling disrespected and mistreated.
On March 8th, I booked a 3:00 PM tee time for my wife and her sister. However, due to heavy rain, I called the pro shop to inquire about our options. Fortunately, a polite and professional male staff member issued an 18-hole rain check, which we greatly appreciated.
Today, I called Lanier Legacy GC to use the rain check and book a tee time for two players. A staff member named Leah Stephenson (I am unsure if the spelling is correct) answered my call. Unfortunately, her attitude and behavior were shockingly unprofessional.
She repeatedly interrupted me mid-sentence and raised her voice during our conversation. Instead of assisting me properly, she refused to listen and transferred my call to another employee without addressing my request. Her tone and actions made me feel unwelcome and, frankly, discriminated against. As an international customer, I felt as though I was being treated unfairly due to my background. She is indeed discriminating me.
Lanier Legacy Golf Club has an excellent reputation, and I would like to believe that this experience does not reflect your organization’s service standards. However, I cannot help but question whether international guests like myself can expect to receive fair and respectful treatment at your establishment.
I sincerely hope that no other customers will have to endure such an unpleasant experience at your golf club. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to...
