Over all parking Set-up is double parking. One car in front of the other. If you park on the outer spot you are required to leave your key. Your car will be moved should the car behind you need to get out. I Did not feel comfortable nor safe doing that. But no real choice in the matter.
Wifi does not work. Keep getting a “No internet” error. I double checked wifi service was available prior to booking because I knew I needed to connect to work. That didn’t happen.
Room: I stayed in a room with ocean view and two double beds. Room size is average for this set up. The room was kind of gross. A lot of mildew and mold in the room and bath. Definitely dirty, dusty and rusty. I am shocked at the condition of the room considering we are still dealing with a pandemic and dirty rooms are completely unacceptable. dated, not the cleanest.
The property itself could use a bit more attention to detail. Maybe a bit more sweeping and possibly power wash all the bird droppings in the parking area walkways. Even better maybe get owl decoys or something to deter the crazy amount of birds hanging there depositing droppings everywhere. Not only is that plain disgusting but it is also a safety/ health issue. Also I didn’t not see a constant wipe of door handles and elevator buttons. Not saying that it didn’t happen but I moved around a lot and never saw it. Thank goodness for my extra large bottle of Purell and lots of hand washing. I did not feel comfortable with the cleaning protocols especially during COVID.
There is access to the beach with a key they provide. Beach was ok. Sand is not smooth. It’s full of shells and debris. Painful to walk on. Beach itself is pretty but there are large, slippery rocks and my kids weren’t fans of that or the seaweed. There are showers for rinsing off saltwater and sand when entering the Pool area from the beach. However I did not feel comfortable using the pool due to what I had already seen concerning cleanliness in the rest of the property.
No 24 hour lobby personnel. There is a phone left on the lobby counter asking you to dial a certain extension for assistance. That for me during COVID is unacceptable. There are no disinfectant wipes left behind for guests to disinfect the phone prior to and after use.
Restaurant doesn’t open til 9:00am. So if you’re an early riser and need caffeine, you’re SOL. Coffee in room was terrible. No instructions on how much to use with how much water. So if you’re not used to brewing that brand of coffee, you’re screwed. We went to the on site restaurant for breakfast. No one greeting or seating. We grabbed our own table and physically separated the tables because we were 4 and it was a table for six. Which worked out because a couple was looking for a table and there were none. Not seeing tables or chairs being wiped as people left their tables. Just new cutlery being put out after cups and plates were Removed. I ended up grabbing our own menus off the counter as no one brought them over. Waited for 10 minutes before a waiter came over. He took our order. Food was brought out pretty quickly. Food was served without utensils. We had to ask for them. They were not well cleaned. I did not use the utensils as I ordered a sandwich. Food was hot and fresh but nothing spectacular. In closing, I would not recommend this property unless they do some major improvements. For the cost of the room per night, I expected more…...
Read moreI made a reservation for the villa. Which consists of a suite with 2 private bedrooms with king size beds and a sofa bed and two bathrooms. It also have a kitchenette with a small dining room table and a living room. Also in the package was another basic hotel room, with 2 full size beds and a separate bathroom. When I made the reservation about a month ago, I requested an ocean view. Upon arrival, I was informed that there was not one available. I informed the front desk staff that I requested such during the reservation and I was told that an entry was made for such request. The two staffs attending the front desk knocked reach other's elbows and stated that none were available and that if such entry would have been made, they would have reserved such. I informed that Angel (the sales person who sold me the reservation) have assured me that he made such entry request. Staff clerk Luís Mendoza stated that they could not accommodate such request because the reservation office never made such entry. Never the less, since I have already traveled from Caguas to Boquerón in order to spend the weekend with my wife, kids and in laws and definitely there was not going to be the accomodations that we needed, we were left with no choice. The other lady at the front desk, just shrugged her shoulders and look at the other clerk with a smile. To my surprise, the rooms hygiene are not what you would expect for almost$1,300 . The floor's tiles are stained, the dressers and night tables are in poor condition and many other areas needing attention. I will not be returning to this resort, since the condition doesn't meet the cost and the fact that someone was lying. I would have gladly accepted the excuse or an innacurate statement that it was an oversight on their reservations than to be taken for a fool. I advise that If anyone is going to be making a reservation at this location, get writing what you requesting before you pay for it. And last, but not least, I visited a couple of my friends staying at Boquerón for the weekend, and their rooms were very cleaned and the attention to details and quality service was...
Read moreWow! This place was just such a great find! I stayed with my son and we loved it! The location was a big plus for me. You're less than 5 minute walk from both the local public beach (Balneario de Boqueron) and the Poblado de Boqueron. Entry to both is via a gate you get a key to when you check in (make sure you do not lose it though as it would cost $100 to replace!). No need to take the car out after you arrive! The Poblado is a small town with a variety of small restaurants and bars and some souvenir shops. It is very lively, particularly at the weekend, but once you are back at the hotel, you do not hear a thing! The hotel has 2 pools, one specially for children with slides and water features and a very generous-sized main pool for the whole family to enjoy. Right next to the pool is the restaurant and bar offering local foods and a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. I particularly liked their 'chicharrones de pollo' and rum punch. Breakfast is also served here from 8am (for a fee) but I found it offered good choice and good prices. Staff at the restaurant and check in counter were all really nice as well. The ice machine on the 1st floor was a god send as we used it to put in our cooler we took to the beach so we didn't have to worry about buying ice outside. The rooms were clean, good-sized and comfortable with air con you could control. We had a small kitchenette with a microwave and small fridge/freezer (no hob) and a balcony with a table and 2 chairs. I think there were bigger family rooms for bigger families too. The lifts/elevators were big but really slow. Parking is available for 1 car per room and is charged extra (less than $6 per 24-hours so not bad at all). There was a games room with arcade-style machines (different prices per game/machine) and a vending machine with snacks and drinks plus a small gym on the first floor. Another local beach, Combate Beach, is only 15-20 minutes drive away and there are nearby gas stations and supermarkets but you'll need to take the car for those. Beautiful Buyé beach is also like 20 minutes drive away and definitely...
