We are staying in Cabo Rojo and decided to visit Roberto Gastroteca. We didn’t have a reservation but luckily were able to dine in (probably because is a Monday) but I suggest making reservations.
Our family could not decide on one so we ordered several appetizers: sopa de calabaza, croquetas, pork belly were delicious. Our favorite: alcapurrias de Wagyu with a deconstructed unexpected twist.
The Chuleton was tender and melted in your mouth. The chickpeas were so perfectly cooked.
The Risotto Milanese was amazing! The risotto was so cheesy, and the basil kick made it all the better! As for the chicken that comes with the Milanese, 2 words: crispy and juicy.
Las chuletas de cordero were very delicious as well.
We, again, could not decide on one and ordered three desserts: flan de pistachio, flan de queso and crème brûlée. All had the right amount of sweetness and perfect consistency.
Very good service and, overall, 10/10 experience.
Roberto Gastroteca a little gem in the Poblado...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I hate leaving negative reviews because I know how difficult it is to run a business, let alone a restaurant, but this will be for the good of its evolution. First of all, the place looks fabulous and made me think for a moment that it was a fine restaurant. First, I ordered an orange juice, which when it was delivered to me, the rotten smell hit me from a distance; it was indeed spoiled, it was quite unpleasant. Second, I ordered a soup that wasn't bad but not delicious or hot, and the sprouts they had for decoration tasted like dirt. I ordered a chicken salad, it wasn't bad but it could have been better... And worst of all, I was listening to the chefs' dirty trap music playing at full volume the entire evening, which made the evening quite uncomfortable. I mentioned this to the waitress and she asked me to please write this review since they've had many complaints about it... I will return again to see how...
Read moreJust ate at this restaurant with high expectations. It's a very good restaurant. These are some areas that could be improved. The wait staff: they tried hard but need to pay more attention to their customers. Training is key. No one should walk through the restaurant without looking to see if any of the customers need anything. I hate to have to 'flag down " someone after the staff walks by my table without looking at me with my finger raised. I understand they're busy, but just acknowledge me an say someone will be with me. Cuts of steak:. Had a "barbecue steak ". At a restaurant that wants to be at the top, n o steak should ever be tough and difficult to cut. Either get better cuts of meat or prepare it in a way that tenderizes it. Don't let this discourage you from going to this restaurant. I hope the staff will read this and improve on a very...
