It was such a pleasant surprise to arrive at the hotel and find it to be even better than the pictures. At check-in, the attendant was friendly and thoroughly informed us about everything we needed to know. He also supplied us with a generous amount of delicious cookies! I think we missed the popcorn they offer guests, but we saw people leaving the lobby with it.
The double queen room was perfect; It was completely updated, spacious, nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, and well designed. They even left us a treat of saltwater taffy. The bed was comfortable and had lots of pillows. I could have used a softer pillow, but it was no big deal.
We had a back door that led to the covered deck/porch overlooking a garden area with a Koi pond. There were lawn chairs to relax in and bird feeders to watch. A special treat was the bunnies in the lawn.
Spring is arriving at the Oregon Coast as Daffodils and flowering shrubs are starting to bloom. The grounds here are well maintained, and I can imagine they are even more beautiful later in the year.
The room had a gas fireplace that ignited with a flip of a switch. We loved the kitchenette area with Keurig, mini fridge, microwave, and sink of which included kitchen towels and dish cloth. The coffee pods, creamer, and sugars, along with mugs, glasses, wine glasses, wine opener, and utensils, were neatly stored in cupboards. It all felt really clean.
The bathroom was spacious with plenty of towels. The shower had dispensers of shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. A hair dryer was provided.
The inn provided a complimentary breakfast with many options to choose from served in a nice dining area with a fireplace and a beautiful chandelier. Attendants were on site, where they kept everything stocked. Breakfast was served from 7 am to 10 am.
There is no pool or hot tub on site. They do offer a fitness room and yoga. The property is pet friendly as well.
Some reviews mentioned highway noise being an issue. We didn't encounter that in our room. We could hear it when we were near the building where breakfast was served. There was some noise from the tenants above us when their bath/shower water was draining. But we couldn't hear them walking around, etc.
They provided a long list of recommended restaurants. Out of curiosity, we checked Uber eats and Postmates to see if there were any food delivery options, but there were none at that time for Canon Beach. We noticed a market right across the street that has sinage for pizza, but we didn't check it out. It's just a short drive into the main area of town.
Check-out time was 12 pm. Just an overall...
Read moreI've stayed here a few times over the last 20 years. It was a nice place. They've added a few new buildings. The new jacuzzi room is a little small though, and we've had a number of problems.
Microwave burned out or first night. Was microwaving a bowl of soup, the microwave itself became too hot to touch, fizzled and burned out. Was replaced by maintenance for us the next morning.
On arrival at 1pm the room was in the 90s. Apparently the thermostat is broken. I turned it all the way down, opened all of the windows and tried to cool it down. At 8pm it was 77 (see photo), at 11pm it was finally down to 74 degrees. Left the window open all night. Turned the pilot light off on the fireplace, but still had to leave the window open 2 more nights. Unacceptable.
The cold water valve on the Jacuzzi tub had issues. Would only open about 10%. The hot side would open fully, but the stopper was broken and was difficult to get it perfectly in the off position. Had to use a garbage can from the room filled with cold water from the shower to cool the tub enough to use. Maintenance fixed this the next day.
Tiny thing, but apparently housekeeping didn't know how to hang a shower curtain, so most of the rings were upside down and not clasped, making opening and closing annoying. Yes, I can fix this myself.
We scheduled 3 nights and on check in they mentioned that because of covid-19 housekeeping would not clean the room every day. I understand why companies are using covid and an excuse to cut costs, but this bs is getting old.
The Keurig coffee maker was clogged, but after running some water through it out opened back up and was usable.
The room was pretty dim, even with all lights on. Was ok during the day with all curtains open.
The bed was comfortable and the sheets warm so we slept well. The room looked new and, except for the issues noted, was well kept. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Most of the front desk help were friendly. The cookies were great.
Overall I'd say it's not worth the exorbitant rate charged. I've stayed at much nicer places for the same amount or less, and I...
Read moreWe had a wonderful time at the Inn at Cannon Beach. We stayed Friday, June 24, 2022 through Tuesday, June 28th, 2022. The room was as described and what we expected except for 1 thing. One thing about the rooms that was unknown to us, and I did not see on the site, is the fact that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. Now, this was not an issue the first night and the last night as we just opened the windows and used the fans they provided. However, it was VERY hot in the room even with 2 fans running during two of the nights we stayed. We had the windows open on both sides of the room to create a cross-breeze, but it was still very hot and difficult to sleep. I feel like this is something they should mention, especially to summer visitors. Now, this was not great, BUT i would still stay here again. The staff was very helpful and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Our room was nice and had little visible wear besides things you would expect. I do wish there were more seating options as we only had two chairs in our room with 4 people, but i'm sure they would have brought more chairs had I asked. I would also recommend getting the S'mores Package they offer for a beach fire. This was one of our favorite things we did. The package includes wood, fire starter, matches, graham crackers, marshmallows, Hershey bars, adjustable roasting sticks, wipes for cleaning, and a sand bucket with shovel! It was also nice having beach chairs available to borrow from the hotel so we didn't have to bring our own. The bunnies that run around town are absolutely adorable! One thing about the area, NOT THE HOTEL, that was strange was that there are no restrooms in the shops on main street. You have to use to the public restroom buildings, which were awful to say the least. Other places, like gas stations and stores, only offer port-a-pots. Lesson we learned: Take advantage of the nice restrooms inside the restaurants and at the hotel. It is also strange that you cannot pump your own gas in Oregon! lol ;) Overall, we had a fantastic trip to Oregon and highly recommend the Inn at...
