So happy this grocery store appeared in CB a few years ago. As a regular visitor to CB I have been shopping for years at the Mariner in town. I have no serious complaints but let's face it, the store is limited. F Foods has an amazing selection of all kinds of fresh produce and also a very good selection of specialty foods and a huge freezer section for people who want frozen pizzas and other ready made foods while they're at the beach. The wine selection is nothing short of amazing! Also alot of craft beers available for purchase. If you have a limited diet--vegan or vegetarian or gluten free this is the only place in town where you'll get some food options. I recently tried the bakery (scones) and they were delicious. The stff are all friendly--pretty typical for CB--and it is a fun place to shop with plenty of parking. The beach across the street is one of my dog's favorites due to the surf...
Read moreI bought an espresso shot at the sleepy Monk coffee counter. The girl was very nice that took my order. observing while they were making the coffees I noticed she took the portafilter from the machine dumped the used grounds and then proceeded to refill it with fresh grounds. Never once did she rinsed out the portafilter which is per protocol when you're making espresso. And never once did she measure the coffee grounds. She kept tamping down the coffee grounds over and over again when you're supposed to only do it once. also I noticed that they never rinsed out the cups that they put the espresso shots and and they didn't have a timer on top of the machine to time a long they were pouring the shot.. For a double shot is $2.50 It was not worth it. It was better and lukewarm. The flavor of the coffee never came through. Please please train the baristas properly to use the...
Read moreStopped in here today looking for chicken strips for the kids (which they did not have) but ended up getting myself a deli sandwich -which was excellent ($6.99 and came with a pickle spear)! They made it up fresh for me since the ones that were pre-made had mustard and mayo already on them, which I don't care for. (I would suggest making them all plain and providing condiment packets instead of making them up that way.) They had quite a few good looking muffins and scones at the espresso bar as well, good looking garden salads with hard boiled egg, and some cooked grilled chicken breasts. I also noticed some pretty local flower bouquets as we were leaving. The wait was a little long and the sign said daily sandwich specials which they didn't seem to have - and there wasn't a sandwich or soup menu (I asked). Will definitely...
