First, I want to say thank you- to the staff I came in contact with at this location. Everyone I spoke with was nice and went out of their way to help me. Upon arrival I found that there was an error in my online reservation and Darlene was nice enough to correct it without hesitation. Otherwise I'd have paid for a night i didn't stay.
I read many of the reviews but I didn't feel any were so off putting to keep me from enjoying the one night, I mean the rooms look nice and the price is right! So let's be honest, from the outside it isn't any different than any other Red Roof. Your GPS might be confused to its exact location but just look for the Denny's and Wendy's, its located just behind them! The room I had was nice, recently updated and comfortable (King Deluxe or something). The bathroom isn't very big but it did the trick for just one (for the record the water pressure here is wild) (you'll enjoy a vigorous massage.. or not) I drove all evening after working six days straight to get there from Cinci and by the time I'd gotten comfortable and ready for bed it was late. I discovered while climbing into the bed what appeared to be a blood spot on the sheet and well I'm convinced that's what it was. I paused to consider going to the office and what would ensue but I decided to give the bed a thorough check for bugs and any other gross findings, of which I found zero. So satisfied I kicked that yucky thing away and slept decently. Despite not being able to feel the air movement from the ac which I'm not sure was really working- the low was in the thirties so I shouldn't have been so hot AND it would have been nice to drown out other noises. I keep a clean house, I have been a GM for a number of years in the resort management and restaurant business and I pay attention to detail. Things may have been given a quickie change over from the last guest. The toilet had a bit of a ring and something clinging to the rim, there were water spots abound and hairs on the tub wall but aside from that and the aforementioned the only other thing is that the mini fridge took forever to really cool down and it was already on but not turned to very cold.
So, how can I give this place five stars?
I went to check out and I was greeted by a woman who's name I didn't catch but whom may have been a manager. She asked how my stay was and I mentioned the bodily fluids on the sheet. I didn't even mention any other issues, I wasn't looking for problems or refunds or apologies even. Really! I was just ready to hit the road and all the other things weren't even really worth my energy to mention. Again, with not a second in hesitation she nullified the charge, apologized and thanked me. He seems so mean.. since about may1st 2023 my family and I have been staying there because we are having such a hard time finding a home. Everything is so high or they want you to have a 700 credit score. It's me my elderly mom and my 3 kids. My daughter has cystic fibrosis my mom is sickly and my son has a intellectual disability. I'm a delivery drive.. so we've been renting out 2 rooms 141 and 143 since may 1st. I extended my stay every Friday online. On June 16 2023 I extended online on the website. Because of the taylor swift concert the price of our rooms skyrocket from 70 something a night to over 200$ a night. I scraped up enough money to get one more night. I booked online just to be told by the Manager that they was booked up. I'm like how when I was allowed to book online. All the hotels/motels in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas was all booked up. I broke down and cried. I'm like we don't have anywhere to go. He didn't care. He's like I have 90 people coming here tonight and he was giving us until 12pm to get all of our stuff out. I had to get a uhaul that I couldn't afford at the moment and got my family out. We sat in the Dennys parking lot trying to find somewhere to go. Everything was booked up or way too expensive...all that waiting in the uhaul all of our food went bad. Around 7pm we was able to find a motel in west VA. Now we are stuck down here. I hope who ever had room 141 and 143 had a nice time at the concert... the plumbing in room 143 was messed up the sink toilet and tub didn't work. It kept getting stopped up. Read moreUpon check in I was asked to pay a pet fee for my service dog man at the front desk yelled at me for telling him that I shouldn't have to pay for a service dog. I told him that I stay here all the time and have never had to pay for my service dog. Got to the room and it only had 2 towels and 1/2 roll of toilet paper for a 5 night stay for 2 people. No plug for the fridge. Called the front desk and requested help was told they would send their guy. Had to move the fridge to the middle of the room to reach an outlet. No towels or toilet paper were sent. Asked again the next day no response. Finally on the evening of the second day I went to the front desk and was handed towels and a roll of toilet paper. While I was out someone entered our room and took what towels we had so not we are back down to 2 towels! The ceiling was stained with I don't even know what. Then our room key stopped working and had to go back to the front desk he handed us the keys and we went back to the room and they still didn't work back to the front desk, then back to the room. Please keep in mind we are a senior couple with mobility issues. I tried joking with the guy at the front desk and said 1 more night and we'll be out of your hair. He yelled at me and said "no more nights" I said I'm sorry but we paid for this out last night. He again yelled "you be out in the morning. There is trash everywhere outside this hotel. Then I received another invoice by email and was charged and additional $5 with no explanation. I'll never stay here again.
