Negatives: Racist staff member: as my cousins were coming into Boston for my graduation, I witnessed a moment that I did not want to admit was racist... but I can't help but to feel like this is the best and most honest way of describing it. When they had a quick check in process by a well-mannered African American lady (can't remember the name), they were offered a couple bottles of water. However, they refused it during check-in because of how tired they were from driving over 8 hours and they already had a couple spare bottles from the car. So, the next evening, when they began to run low, they went up to the front desk to take them up on their original offer. This time, the person running the front desk was a larger male with a beard and glasses. They had gone up and requested kindly for two bottles of water, and was met with an immediate loud and assertive response "there is a fountain right behind that wall that you can get water from. Otherwise, it will cost you." I was standing behind them, dumbfounded because I helped them with their check-in process and felt confused. We then explained that we refused it initially and the gentlemen gave us a cringed look, and asked for the room number to fact-check my cousins. After a few seconds, he immediately said "these water bottles are only complimentary at check-in"..., which seemed understandable at the time, but made less and less sense to us because we saw so many residents go up to the front desk and ask for water, and were given without any sort of questioning... Eventually, after we expressed that we didn't receive the complimentary bottles initially due to the tiredness and refusal initially, without any words, the worker handed two bottles to my cousins. What angered me the most was I literally saw this worker hand out these bottles to other people without any sort of questions, and were given to them with a great mannerism. Unbelievable!! As a Taiwanese American, I am proud of what and who my family represents. I know that people have off days, but this is ridiculous and unprofessional. Absolutely disgusting. I will never let my family come across this hotel again. Note: I would single out this individual, but I didn't receive his name. Nor do I want to at this point. After all the racial negativity and scares that we receive as a family in this country... we are just sick of this. My cousins haven't felt as welcomed ever since that interaction.

Edit: My cousins are also DIAMOND members. They have stayed in multiple hotels with this franchise for years. This interaction was a first of its kind. Absolutely atrocious.

Pros: Very well furnished! It is a newly opened hotel, and is quite honestly one of the most cozy, well-looking rooms that I've been to for this price range! It is quite honestly a gem of Boston, MA. The staff in general (other than previously described) are SO well-mannered and welcoming. I would feel comfortable recommending this place to anyone EXCEPT for...

I stayed three nights at the Hilton Garden Inn in Canton, and it exceeded almost every expectation. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how upscale and polished everything felt. The furnishings are stylish and comfortable—especially in the lobby, which looks and feels more like a luxury property than a typical chain hotel.

Nancy, one of the managers, checked me in and continued to assist me throughout my stay. One morning, when I had difficulty locating my transportation, she went above and beyond by reviewing the hotel’s security cameras to help me confirm whether it had arrived. Her calm and thoughtful approach made a potentially stressful moment much easier. Erica from the front desk also texted shortly after check-in to make sure everything in my room was okay—another personal and appreciated gesture.

A standout moment happened even before I checked in. The driver who brought me from Boston needed to use the restroom after the long drive, and the hotel staff welcomed her warmly—no questions, no attitude, just kindness. It may seem like a small gesture, but it reflects the genuine hospitality at this hotel.

My room was quiet, immaculately clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom looked brand new, with flawless finishes and a pristine tub—everything gleamed, and I didn’t see a single scratch or sign of wear. I especially appreciated the blackout blinds, which made it easy to sleep in. My window overlooked peaceful rolling hills—a beautiful and calming view. The AC unit worked perfectly, and the room stayed cool and quiet throughout my stay, making it easy to fall asleep each night.

Housekeeping was consistently excellent, and thoughtful touches like the bench outside the entrance—for guests waiting on transportation or simply relaxing—showed how much care went into the guest experience.

The Garden Grille, the hotel’s onsite restaurant, was another highlight. Jenn served me dinner on the first night—friendly, efficient, and attentive. Mike was my server on the following night, and he was just as warm and professional. Melody served me both mornings at breakfast and was truly fantastic—cheerful, kind, and completely on top of everything.

The only aspect that could be improved was the indoor pool. While the facility was clean and inviting, the water temperature was noticeably colder than expected—likely below 70°F on the first night. It had warmed slightly by my final evening, but still didn’t reach the ideal 82°F. A properly heated pool would’ve made an already great stay truly perfect.

During my visit, the hotel was fully booked—Northern Trust and Dunkin’ Donuts appeared to have reserved a large number of rooms—but the staff remained calm, composed, and incredibly...

Hilton Garden Inn, we can’t thank you enough for our 5 star stay. My wife and I stayed at this amazing hotel about two weeks ago. When we walked into the hotel lobby we were floored by the beautiful decor and cleanliness of this hotel, everything was amazing. We were greeted with a big smile and hello from the front desk associate who provided us with great service on checking in, it was flawless. I can’t tell you how many times my wife and I turned our heads with joy and amazement at every point going up to our room. I just want to say my wife and I are always loaded up with Lysol spray, disinfectant wipes and Clorox spray when we stay in hotels, there was no need for any of that at this Hotel. From the elevator to the walk to our room was spotless, and when we entered our room it was a breath of fresh air to see what we saw in our large room. Everything was absolutely fabulous. The room was spotless, the design and decor in the room was spot on, and the beds were made up to so well it looked like we were going to be sleeping on a soft cloud in the sky. This is the first time in a very long time staying in a hotel we finally got a good nights sleep. The beds were so comfortable, the sheets and the comforter was so fresh and clean, and the pillows were so soft and amazing I wanted to bring them home. Finally, we slept through the night. The next morning we came down to the lobby and made a cup of free Dunkin’s coffee which tasted better than the Dunkin’s store down the street, I don’t know how that happens but the coffee was great. As we were making our coffee we met Nancy Kakas the front office manager. Nancy greeted us with the biggest hello and smile. We told her what an amazing hotel this is. We all started talking and laughing as Nancy was telling us about the amazing Hilton Garden inn. Nancy is an amazing person, we felt like we knew her for years. She just took what we already thought was an amazing hotel experience to another level, with her professionalism, friendliness and dedication to her job. Nancy made us feel like we were VIP Guest and we really appreciated that. I also would like to shout out the Chef for making those tasty potato’s and crispy bacon served at the buffet. So in closing when you visit this amazing hotel there won’t be much to complain about because the entire staff is on point, they get the job done. This will be the only Hotel I stay at when I travel back home to Boston.Thank you Hilton Garden Inn....

The hotel was near perfect. The burger and flatbreads were decadent. Breakfast included everything from berries to your choice of eggs with or without cheese to bacon and sausage. Everyone was super kind. The hotel was quiet. I especially loved that they had unscented products in the shower!!! My one complaint, and it’s a big one, is that the cleaning lady came into my room at 8:30am right as I was getting ready to shower. She just opened the door and peaked her head in. I did call the front desk to tell them what happened. I should have been comped something for this. No one even mentioned it again. No one apologized at check out. Nothing. Not only is it a breach of privacy, but if this is something that just happens, then my stuff isn’t safe there. There should be zero tolerance for that. And I heard her going up and down the hall opening and closing doors after she’d done that with mine. I’m a Hilton Diamond member. I travel only almost exclusively with Hilton. There is no room for this kind of behavior. Amended post: the hotel reached out to issue points toward a future stay, and to explain that it was the cleaning lady’s first day and she made a big mistake that won’t happen again. They invited me back. I stayed again, and the stay was fantastic. Sadly, there were strong smells of both weed and cigarette smoke on the weekend, but that’s most hotels these days. I stayed the whole week though and the other days were great. I really appreciated the response to my concerns.

Very strange experience: Needed name verification from the person who booked the room. No worries, there…I’d rather a company be cautious over reckless. Desk rep let us know where and when breakfast would be - nice, but failed to mention that it wasn’t complimentary. Don’t expect anything and this is knowledge I could have had; that said, if you’re going to upsell, you have to actually sell. Room was on the top floor, very back corner, ADA room. Were it not for the fact that there were maybe 20 Guests that night…whatever. You fill your rooms. This either seemed intentional to place us in that corner (why fill your ADA rooms when there are others open? Someone needing that bed would have an interesting story if they got turned away because I was in that room. I woke up coughing pretty solid. The filters show a possible why. The shades were odd in that room. The electric-powered shade was lacking in opacity and didn’t help anything. The blinds didn’t close. *Not claiming origin* while I don’t know where this came from, I have a very itchy rash on my ankle and small bite-ish marks on my hand. Could have been from several locations…I mention it because the itching started overnight in that bed and flared most that morning. Honorable mentions - bed was as if a safe had been dropped on it multiple times, every day for the last year. Uncannily inconsistent bed. Master switches are not a concern - but, if your hotel has them, it should probably be mentioned to avoid wandering in darkness to find light.
