We went last Saturday evening. There was plenty of parking, free, but we had to park a little way back because the place was pretty busy. Not a deal breaker and definitely not a problem when it's warmer. Plus, they are putting in Tesla chargers. They have chargers for other brands as well. This place is huge! We walked past an area for outdoor seating and went through the entrance door. There was a host stand and an area for selling merch. We didn't realize the host stand was for getting a table. The tables are community style tables so I didn't see a need for being seated. The community tables were pretty full, a lot of families, so we went to the very large bar area where you can sit at the bar or at the high top tables without going to the host stand. We managed to grab two seats at the bar as soon as people vacated them. Let me say, this is not a quiet place, nor did I expect it to be. The drink menu was fantastic. I am not considered a real beer drinker, but my spouse is. I prefer wine or cocktails, but I will drink fruity or sour beers. I ordered a cocktail made with their own spirits that I really liked. The bartender/beertender was awesome and I had no complaints at the bar. We ordered wings and Parmesan fries which were both very good. Now for the part I don't like to talk about, but I am a female, so I must. They have more than one bathroom. Yay! The one in the bar area had an airport style opening and the ladies room had 5 stalls, great! There were 2 sinks. Fine. One electric hand dryer. Why would you have that many toilets with 2 sinks and only one electric hand dryer? Hello? This is a ladies room where, hopefully, the females all wash their hands, but seriously, get some more drying options! Put in a paper towel holder in addition to the hand dryer. Enough about that. In conclusion, I believe we will go back even though it's a bit of a drive for us. Cheers!
Updated January 26th 2025 We went on a Sunday afternoon and went to the bar and ordered drinks. Even though the bar area was a little busy, we found 2 seats at the end. No problem. The beertenders/bartenders we had were both awesome. No complaints there at all. We wanted to order an early dinner of chicken wings and another appetizer but, they were out of chicken wings. We ended up ordering pizza. The pizza came out faster than I thought it would, which was great! It was good pizza. I won't say it's the best I've had, but it was good. I'm going to finish by saying that I'm disappointed that after a full year since my first review and getting positive feedback from Trillium, I really thought I'd see more hand drying options in the ladies room, but no. One single electric hand dryer in the bar area ladies room and I had to wait to use it. There were only 2 other females in there at the time but with 5 stalls and only one electric hand dryer...well you know you're going to have to wait unless you're the only one in there. Other than that, this...
Read moreTrillium Canton really fell off. It seems like they grew too big for their britches. A few years back, an obligation brought me near eastern mass every quarter. Trillium was always part of my trip and the experience was always glowing. Think dogs, families, babies, seriously good beer with that wild aroma of hops in the air. The people serving the beer were knowledgeable beer nerds. They didn't have a lot of merch, but it was all good quality. Fast forward to last week: They expanded many times over. You are greeted with a NO DOGS, NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK sign, then a hostess who seemed really unenthusiastic and uninterested dealt with us. I was excited for Trillium, I didn't know about all of the expansion happening. I had a very awkward exchange with the hostess. She asked: "table for two?" I told her that I didn't really want to sit at a table, and that I wanted to get a beer and walk around and check out the brewery. She asked me if I wanted food. I told her I didn't know yet. Then she told me that if I wanted food, I needed to sit at a table and a server needed to take my order, otherwise if I only want a beer, I need to sit at the 'bar' (she pointed at these 6 bar stools). I sat at the bar and got a beer with a friend. After a few minutes, we decided that we wanted to order a pizza. The bartender reminded us that we would have to sit at a table and be served by a server. So we go sit down, wait 10 minutes for a server to come, order the pizza, wait 15 minutes for the pizza to come, and basically didn't see her again. I had to go up to the bar to get napkins. Then I cash out with the server, who holds out her Toast mobile tablet with recommended gratuity of 18-22%. I felt forced into a sit down restaurant experience where a counter service experience would have been WAY better and more relaxed. It seems like they really tried to copy Treehouse, but forgot about that part. Then, I grab $100+ of to go beer from the bartender, and again, it's recommending 18-22% gratuity on beer that I grabbed out of the fridge? The beer is special, but that is overshadowed by the cold and awkward service. This is now a sit-down restaurant that just so happens to brew their own beer. The merch really looks cheap. I went to buy a glass, but I was really turned off by the quality of everything. If you want to try their beer, order online and get out of there ASAP to avoid the...
Read moreMy family, friends, and colleagues love Trillium and are happy to see their success skyrocket over the years! HOWEVER one short, greying security guard is looking for trouble...
We fell in love with Trilliums great beers that were always innovative and unique, the food truck variety was always fun to mix up drink pairings with, and with the new location they keep exceeding expectations!
Unfortunately, we had an incident that although management took care of, we feel needs to be brought to the attention of the owners. We had a large party of 15 or so casually ordering drinks and ordering food for an impromptu celebration at the lounges in front of the to go area. Two wine glasses that were three quarters full were on the side of the table towards the Togo section which was near said security guard's post. Without warning the security guard took both and emptied them in the trash. We were shocked and confused! Although I said "Excuse me, sir", he may not have heard me and I'd like to give the benefit of the doubt that I was not ignored.
I immediately went to the counter and explained what happened and also asked to see a manager which the Trillium staff quickly and politely obliged. This is where the security guard came over and said he was clearing empty glasses and that my party of 15 people and myself were incorrect and/or lying... With anger now getting the better of me I quickly retorted that I would like to see the security footage of him emptying "EMPTY" glasses into the trash which quickly made him walk away in fear of incriminating himself further while escalating the situation. Only smart move he made. The manager did provide newly filled wine glasses to the guests that had theres stolen.
1.) Why would security be prebussing tables?
2.) What were the motives of the short, greying security guard?
3.) Why would he lie about it? This is essentially calling myself and my 14 other witnesses liars.
4.) Why would he escalate the situation when his job is to literally to do the opposite?
All in all we would go back as the staff(NOT SECURITY), drinks, and food are fantastic. I can speculate that the answer to the four questions above was that he was looking for a way to listen in to our conversation, messed up, and got defensive.
I apologize in advance to the hardworking, polite Trillium employees and owners that make this place ALMOST...
