Carpinteria Shores — Hotel in Carpinteria

The location is great - right on the beachfront. The people who run it are also really nice and very responsive. I used to have some gripes about the place several years ago, but they've been addressed over the years.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: there are now two different managers. One of them is the original couple, and the other is a corporate PMG (Casago or something like that) that tried to force the old managers out without warning, even to the tenants. If you're going to book here, book with the original managers. UPDATE 2: I CANNOT STRSS THIS ENOUGH! Do not book with Casago, their service is getting progressively worse for a higher price.

Rooms are cleaned when guests check out, which is nice, but make sure you clean up after yourself before checking out. There is a coin laundry room, but it's small. Internet is pretty good.

You're basically paying an arm and a leg for the view, cause the accommodations are far below the price point. I've had better views in Hawaii for less! I was there for 2 months when the fires and mudslides occurred. Unfortunately for me, I was nice enough to not ask for a discount, but what really irked me is that I had asked for a particular day to move out and they said "sure that's fine" and only at the moment that I moved out, they handed me an invoice for extra days. My deal with them was based on a monthly price so I had no idea that they would charge me for the extra days or how much it would cost. I pleaded with them that had I known I would have found a way to move out earlier. Sadly they were too greedy to accept that they failed to communicate the terms for my request and took the money out of my security deposit.
