I would say this would be a a Best Western minus. I mean the hotel looks great from the outside and the pictures but basically its just a way for them to overcharge and take basic things away that most upper budget hotels give. Such things as free breakfast (even continental) such as Hawthorne, Comfort or even a Motel 6. Here comes the story of how unsatisfied I am. I came in at 11pm exhausted from a long day driving and site seeing starting in Carmel. I had been on the road since 1030am. I booked the room from a 3rd party site and booked it for the 4th by accident when it was April 3rd. They were unhelpful and rude. I asked if there was anyway they could discount the room because of my mistake until I got in touch with the 3rd party website. They said only by $10 without take which equaled about $30 more than I paid on the 3rd party site. I quickly went online and got the same price I had previously in 10 minutes. I asked for a balcony room. They neglected to tell me that the door locks behind you when you go out. I got locked out and it took them 20 min to get me the key. They told me that there was free coffee from 5-7am. I somehow woke up at 630 and decided to go down and get coffee. The same woman that checked me in informed that the coffee machine was broken so there was no coffee in the lobby but I could “buy” one at the restaurant. Annoyed I went back to my room and decided to call room service and get breakfast and when I did I asked them if they could comp some coffee because of what had just happened. They had to check and when they did I was informed that the front desk woman did not have the authority to authorize the coffee until the manager came in at 830-9am. It was 715. Then I called back the front desk to speak with the woman and she confirmed and I was upset but still wanted breakfast so I called back room service and no one answered. Called back again. The same. Also the carpets are dingy and really its just a Best Western at best with rude staff bad service and all together horrible customer service. I would skip this hotel and not be lured in by the pictures. It’s overpriced and...
Read moreWe arrived Easter Sunday, April 20. We had called ahead of time to make sure that we were able to have an early check-in, we are Diamond status. We did arrive sometime early afternoon and were told that there were no clean rooms. We did however, gain access to a room number 315 at 2:10 in the afternoon. Upon getting the key for the room, we discovered that it was extremely small, no courtyard view and the bathroom, 6 x 6, which meant that we would have to crawl literally over a toilet to get into a bathtub. My husband recently had knee surgery, therefore, making it impossible for him to maneuver that small space. We called down to the front desk to let them know, spoke to Leo, a woman with red hair who had helped us initially. She said that she would call us back, but after 20 minutes we went down to the front desk. My husband waited patiently in line to talk to Leo again and was informed that there wasn’t anything available except other then an outer room overlooking a parking lot. My husband asked if there was an upgrade if possible in a very polite manner. He was told that they could accommodate a two bed queen Courtyard, if that would be acceptable…same price as the King Courtyard we had booked. Never once did he raise his voice or make himself a nuisance to the staff. I stopped in the hallway to hear the front desk clerk complain to the next couple after us about people being demanding. Unprofessional and uncalled for. We went down again to retrieve our luggage and all three people at the front desk stopped talking as soon as they saw us. We were also going to make another reservation to the hotel for our trip back, but decided against it. The staff made us feel uncomfortable and as a Diamond member, unwelcomed. The hotel is convenient to town, appears to be well maintained and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the staff make it impossible for us to recommend this Best...
Read morethis review is for the latina bartender who is from venice who has been working at the hotel for 15 years or so.
i walked in the day of my birthday with my husband just to order a drink before we leave for our reservation dinner. there was nobody at the bar.
we ordered two expresso martinis & she gave us coffee and a straw. i mean look at the picture. i didn’t even get what i asked for. i kindly asked if she could make me something else because that was not an expresso martini. didn’t even come in a martini glass to begin with. & from that moment her energy literally went from nice to mean. you can just feel it. she was upset that i asked if i could switch my drink because that is not what i asked for. i had to apologize several times so she could feel as if i was not against her & her response to the expresso martini drink was “this is how we make them out here” i was like wow seriously ? i could walk outside and head over to a different restaurant and im sure they would make it correctly & that’s exactly what i did after at our dinner reservation where they did make me one correctly.
overall it was the principal of how she handled it. she took it so personal & you can’t take things personal as a bartender, especially if nobody else is at the bar! you have all the time in the world to make a new drink but instead she got really upset her energy made us feel very awkward to be there alone with her & i ended up switching my drink but my husband kept his because he felt too scared to even ask her. that’s how she made us feel. it was my birthday so i had the courage to speak up that day. but anyways due to her attitude energy and response i will not be coming back here ever again.
i linked a photo of the drink she made me. & the one i got at the...
