We stay at a lot of Hamptons, especially going on our annual Florida trip and my dad's a diamond member with Hilton rewards. This has to be one of the worse that we've stayed in. I don't take giving out poor reviews lightly but the accommodations were incredibly lacking and made for more unnecessary frustration when driving in late from a day's drive. My dad had already digitally checked in earlier but when we'd gotten in the attendant at the desk was incredibly rude to my dad and even went as far as saying we "aren't checked in until she's checked us in" and when he'd asked if there was anyway the 2 rooms we'd booked could be side by side or adjoining she was even ruder. Needless to say the rooms were all booked and we had 2 rooms on separate floors, which honestly isn't an incredibly huge deal but my parents room on the 2nd floor smelled like wet dog and cigarette smoke with an inoperable thermostat and a dirty towel found in the bathroom. The other room we stayed in was ok, clean and stocked but it wasn't ten minutes we had arrived when we'd gotten a call (in which they'd hung up before we could answer) and a knock at the door from the manager(?) saying there had been a noise complaint from below and the complaintee had stated it sounded like the ceiling was going to cave in. We were not excessively loud, no more than us walking to our room and getting settled. I do have two small kids who had been in a car all day so I can say they ran to the beds as soon as we got in but wasn't loud enough to necessitate a noise complaint and they'd settled quickly. Come to find out my mom on the 2nd floor who happened to be a couple doors down from where we were a floor up said she heard what sounded like someone running sprints across the room for at least an hr. They did have large groups of kids (what seemed like sports team) there. So I am not sure where the noise could have been coming from I just know it wasn't handled as well as it could have been. The actual room we stayed in was clean but I couldn't say the same for the rest of the hotel. Things were just not as well kept up and alittle grimy, which was vastly different from our experiences at other Hamptons. We were pleased that the attendant at morning breakfast was very nice and extremely accommodating. With the rude staff and the incredibly difficult time getting into the parking lot (which is small up an incredibly steep hill that I have no idea how the large semi taking up half the front parking made it up and you have to pass the hotel and make a u-turn to get into) we won't be staying...
Read moreI'm a Hilton honors member for almost 2 decades. I booked a room through the Hilton honors site and planned on using my points to pay for the room. I had no issues in booking the stay, using my points and receiving my confirmation number via the Hilton honors site and also by email. I drove 1½ hours to the hotel only to be told they had NO ROOMS, THE HILTON SITE OVER BOOKED. I was told there was nothing they could do, no rooms available and there were no rooms available at any of the other family of Hilton hotels either. The desk clerk was extremely nice and said she was very sorry but there was nothing she could do. I had to turn around and drive back 1½hours at 130AM. I can understand, to some degree, about the possible over booking, but I do not understand , if my points were removed from my balance as soon, as I finished the booking and I was issued a confirmation number ....HOW CAN I NOT HAVE A ROOM ...MY POINTS PAID FOR THE ROOM IN FULL AHEAD OF ARRIVAL??? Here is the real kicker to this all; after calling Hilton honors guest services, mire hours later, I was given the run around about me canceling my stay ...therefore I would be charged for the room on my credit card for 'late cancelation' !..REALLY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME ? I WAS STANDING IN THE HOTEL TRYING TO CHECK IN AND THE HOTEL HAD NO ROOMS...I WANTED A ROOM THEY HAD NO ROOMS..THE HOTEL CANCELED THE RESERVATION WHILE I WAS THERE AFTER THE TOLD ME THEY HAD NO ROOMS... HOW CAN I BE CHARGED ... FINALLY SPOKE WITH SEVERAL OTHER GUEST SERVICES REPS. AND FINALLY ONE AGREED THAT I WOULD NOT BE CHARGED.. I ALSO WAS NOT OFFERED, EXTRA POINTS ON MY ACCOUNT, A COMPED OR DISCOUNTED STAY.. JUST A " SORRY FOR THE PROBLEM THAT HAPPENED, AND WE WILL ADDRESS IT WITH THE HOTEL STAFF SO THIS DOESNT HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE".
I wasnt looking for a handout, but when one drives 3hours, round trip,, after midnight to find there is no place for you to stay when you arrived due to anothers fault.. I don't feel being told 'sorry nothing we can do there are no rooms' is enough, especially for a so called valued honors member for over a decade. Hope they get it straightened out to prevent other guests from having to deal with the...
Read moreIt’s incredibly disappointing that this hotel has been allowed to retain its Hampton Inn brand by Hilton. By far one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed at - hallway carpets are disgsuting and a vacuum was never used the entire 6 days we were there. The carpet is literally pulling away from the floor. The furniture in the room was terribly stained. So much so we couldn’t sit on it. The breakfast area was so dirty we couldn’t even bring ourselves to eat there - floors not swept or washed, sticky tables, garbages not changed, insects crawling around. Our 6 day stay never included our room being serviced. Two days of our stay they knocked on the door at 8:15am asking if they could have our towels. One day that I gave them the used towels they said they would be back with new ones. We got back to our room, no towels. I went to the front desk to ask for them and they were all out. She apologized and said “everyone came down before you so I don’t have any left”. I asked to get the towels out of a vacant room and she said she can’t do that even though they weren’t even close to sold out and this was 9pm. Unreal. No guest laundry room on site. No market or pantry with snack for purchase. Our TV didn’t have a remote. On Day 2 they finally got us a remote. But then it didn’t power the TV on so we asked for them to fix it, figuring the remote probably had to be paired with the TV. Got back to the room with a card from maintenance saying they worked on the TV. It still didn’t work and no one ever came to fix it again despite us asking every day. This hotel is on par with a Days Inn or Super 8. Clearly the owners of this hotel are enjoying their $200/night rates and not spending anything to keep this place in decent shape. Such an insult to the...
