As someone who owns multiple businesses, I hate having to rate another business this low, but I’m hoping it gets the attention of the owners and they make the correct changes.
I’ve have been coming here since the day Fire it Up was opened. The food was phenomenal. The portions were appropriate and the staff was delightful, friendly, greeted everyone upon entry. It felt like we were welcomed with open arms. The brisket was some of the best I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot. Most of the sides were great. I had occasional problems with soggy fries or onion rings because they are made and put under a heat lamp, but they would happily make them fresh if requested. I brought many people here… Over 50 at least. Everyone agreed the food was some of the best bbq they have had and raved about every aspect.
Over the course of this year, I have watched it change drastically and it’s awful to see.
To make it simple-
The service and food has went from top tier like Chic-fil-a to more of a “McDonald’s” food quality and service.
The staff does not look happy to be there and treated me as if they weren’t happy to be there. Yesterday, the employee that takes yours meat order would not say a word to me, threw the pack of meat on the table, slammed the door, cut it and threw it in a box. The sides young lady wasn’t much better. She couldn’t say anything either, though, as she was shoving her mouth full with fries and onion rings while getting side orders together…it was disgusting.
Checking out was fine. Nothing special. No thank you. Just here’s the bill, pay it and leave please.
I’m truly appalled. This review isn’t just about yesterday. It’s the culmination of the last 8 visits. Each one, I had hoped would be better the next time and it was just a fluke before. Now, I do not plan to return ever again and will make sure everyone I know does the same. If management wants to reach out, and make the appropriate changes, I will gladly wait a few months and check it out again. But until then….well.. It was absolutely wonderful...
Read moreExtremely rude staff, placed on order on uber eats and the menu had drink options for small medium and large but no drink choices. So I thought I would call the restaurant and let them know my drink choice. The girl who answered the phone said she couldn't hear me and asked another employee to come take the phone cause she "couldn't deal with me", the next person who came to the phone informed me they do not take uber eats orders. I explained to them that I had made the order and she wrote down what it was that I ordered and said they would get it ready for the driver. I was then called back by the restaurants general manager berating me for calling them to simply let them know what my drink order was for when uber eats showed up to get my order, I can understand these are two different entities between the restaurant and uber eats, but to call me back a literally fuss at me and talk down to me because I just wanted to make sure my drink order was correct since their profile in uber eats didn't have choices once you select the size was completely uncalled for. She talked to me like I was stupid and had no business calling them at all because they have nothing to do with uber eats. I was simply making sure the driver would have the correct food waiting on them when he got there. The general manager had a very disgusting attitude and I was pleasant as can be with her, even when she continuously disrespected me by speaking to me the way she was. Will not be ordering anything from there again in person or through any delivery service. Regardless of WHERE I placed the order, it is never ok to meet your paying customers with such a disrespectful and disgusting attitude about simply calling your place of business pertaining to an order that I have paid your business for....
Read moreUpdate 5/14 - went to fire it up again today. Got 3 meat combo for 25 dollars. Ribs were stellar, brisket dry, pulled pork inedible. It was dark brown and about 100% void of moisture. Wife picked mac and cheese good, and collards. She said someone must of not had a grandma to show them how to cook greens. 2/5. I really want to love this place as I live 1 mile away. If I'm honest if feels like everything is reheated and poorly kept and just reheated sucking the moisture out.
Update: From 5 star to 1. This place is no good anymore. I hate it for the new owners because Fire it Up used to be owned by competition bbq crew and since has been sold. Ever since its sold, I have gotten nothing but reheated, dry, sometimes ice cold in the center BBQ. I no longer order brisket because its so dry and gross. Last time I got a pulled pork plate and had to ask them to let Chef Mike (Microwave) warm it up, which is what I believe they do with all orders now. Hence everything being dry and gross. Your lady at the front register is the best, shes very nice and helpful but the food is what really counts. Step it up Fire it Up, have a reopening. Realize you're tanking this business right now.
Old review: This place is a gem. Delicious, clean and great choices. The only thing that could make this place better is if they were open mondays.
The best choices in my opinion are brisket, smoked sausage and pulled pork.
Only try their hot bbq sauce if you are ready to spit fire. I tried it before I knew and ended up having to throw the remainder of my plate away as it...
